I recently installed my Subaru base bars, Yakima Fatcat 6, and some 3m clear bra.
I knew i wanted to put some clear bra down under the base bars because I can't imagine them not scratching the paint once it gets messy out. This was my first time doing any type of clear bra/vinyl work. I made patterns with the rack off the car, cut them out, and went to town. I cut one large piece for each mount, then cut a flap in it so I would be able to index it front/back and left/right at the mount location. I then removed the backing of the ppf, used warm water in a spray bottle on the back of the film and on the car. Set it on the car and double checked the alignment by carefully setting the rack on it (this is much easier w/ 2 people). Removed the rack and resprayed again. Then started to squeegee the water out and make it nice and smooth. Once i had both sides of the rain channel smoothed out I took a razor blade and split it in 3 parts, removing the middle section. Squeegee'd the edges near the channel down and it was off to the next one.

I'm really happy w/ how it turned out, but I'll probably redo 1 or 2 of them next winter.
Tips: 1 make two patterns (1 for front, 1 for back). Then trace out the other side's pattern from the first side. Then you'll have nice uniform pieces. Make sure the car is a decent temp. It was about 55F in the garage and it would have been much easier if it was around 70F. Get a 2nd set of hands to test alignment. I was a little off on the front passenger side (almost too far back, but still protects).
The Subaru Base Bars are great. Super easy to install, 10-15 minutes after I had the clear bra on there.

Fatcat 6: Universal mounting hardware almost always sucks. It was a pain to get them mounted properly with just myself doing it. Get 2 sets of hands and it'll be pretty easy.
Two things I would change...
1. They could have used a rubberized cover on the bottom clamp (just like the top) to make it a bit nicer, I'm sure that with some bars that would be an issue though.
2. Get bolts in a length that is in between the short and long ones they give you. The short ones were too short, long ones are way too long.

Wind noise: Definitely can hear it with boards on after you get over 45-50mph. At 65-75 it's not terrible, but don't expect it to be quiet. I hear more noise on the passenger side (hinge side it on drivers side).
Board mounting: Luckily my wife and I are both short. We both ride 151's, and my bindings just barely fit in between the racks. This is great because there is an equal overhang on front/back. Don't have to worry about hitting the antenna either. They also have a feature to raise the rack a bit for binding clearance. I haven't tried mounting the boards with the bindings down yet, but I think there may be room w/o raising the rack.

Gas Mileage: With 2 boards on (bindings facing up) I got around 21mpg driving from Allentown to the Poconos. With no boards, just the bars and fatcat I got around 25mpg from Quakertown to West Chester. Pretty much all highway between 65-75mph. I'm pretty impressed, I thought it was gonna be worse. I'm sure if I put another 2 boards up there it'd be at least 2mpg lower.
Now I gotta find out which bike mounts I want and order some of the SKS lock cores....
Thanks to S2theI for his thread, it made me decide on the fatcat.
