Hey guys so as I’m doing my timing belt and other components I’ve decided to slap an oem oil pump on, just not sure how to “prime” it to build pressure in the first place. Ive heard the dealer ones are turn key but Smeedia also said to throw some Vaseline in the gear, just wondering who’s done that and how much they used. And I’m assuming I should still pull the ignition fuse and let her crank for a few? Thanks!

Hold the throttle down to the floor while cranking. This enters flood clearing and will cut off the injectors. I do this when my cars sit for some time, prior to starting.
Disassemble the oil pump. Check the bypass plunger for smooth action. Assembly lube on the pump gears. Assembly backplate screw with Loctite. Start engine.
