oh ok, if i choose to use the radio harness....can i put two wires onto the stock wire if that makes sense?

For example, 1 radio harness wire has already had another wired soldered on due to head unit. If i use the defi connector before the soldering...will they intefer with each other or is it fine?

Sorry for the stupid question, im definately a electronics n00b!

depends on the gauge of the wire and what power is going through it. E.g if its a small wire and wattage going through it and your head deck is already sucking some juice then it may have some problems because electricity always goes the path of least resistance so you may not get enough power to you unit or head deck depending on that ohms they both run at. i would play it safe and use the clock harness.

I used your install guide so far, only had 20 minutes or so to start my defi controller and boost gauge install. Thanks for doing such a good job, stuff like this I would feel better with a friend around, but after reading how easy it was I decided to do it by myself :D Thans again for such a wonderful how to thread :)

Hey mate.

If you look unter the steering wheel up on the left there is a large white plug free. This is the plug that is used to connect the OEM Defi genome gauges. you can split the wires and connect though there. It will be the only free plug just hanging there.

Can anyone tell me why my oil pressure gauge still beeps even though I tapped into the radio harness to begin with? Is there anything I should check for? My Boost gauge and EGTgauge don't seem to do it but the oil pressure always does...

ground might be loose. I have mine hooked up to the radio and it works fine. the only one that blinks and not beeps is my EGT gauge.. good luck :)

what do you have your warning set to? Could be because for a split second, the needle is below your warning level, causing the beep.

IM having the same prob as spider 96. all the other gauges boost, EGT, and water temp are good but the oil pressure is beeping and the red light is constant. my pressure is at 8.0 kPa, just above the peak pressure. anyone with ideas? thanks

A steady light and beep means you're below your preset warning.
What is your warning set to?

If you gauge is constantly pegged at 8 kpa, then you have a wiring/sender issue.

I just installed my guages today, a deep 15/16 socket takes the stock oil sender under the alternator out with no problem, dont have to bother with a wrench and risk stripping the stock sender.
I do have a question concerning oil pressure, I am seeing like 90psi at start and 80 - 90 psi cruising, when stopped at a light or during hot idle it drops to like around 20psi, is anyone else seeing that, is that too low?

Those are normal pressures

i'm having the same op sound problem so i went to re-wire them to the clock and my clock harness has 6 wires (06 sti), not 4. black, white w/ red stripe, yellow w/ blue stripe, red w/ blue stripe, green, orange w/ something. i have the black-black, orange-orange- then the white-white w/ red and the control unit turns on and acts normal W/O the red wire connected. i connected it to all 3 of the other wires and none of my gauges come on. =( i checked the wire running from the 2 port to the gauges and still nothing. HELP

ok so i fixed it lol the orange didnt go to orange, it went to the yellow w/ blue, but black-black (duh), red-red w/ blue, and white-white w/ red stripe. i still have the oil pressure yelling at me when the car is off though. it drops to 0 and even when i set the warning for 0 it still yells at me. =( one reason why i re-wired.
