I has seen pics. The man speaks the truth. And it's quite easy to gain lots of posts when there ain't **** to do at work

Let me see if I understand this correctly.

When you "max out" the stock MAF it's because the turbo is sucking in air so fast and violently (for lack of a better term) it basically ****s up the sensor, and when you switch to a bigger MAF there is less turbulance to **** up the sensor.

Am I even in the right ballpark?
I think maxing the MAF out refers to the turbo just pulling more air into the intake than the MAF was originally calibrated to read.

But then why can't the MAF just be recalibrated? I think that's what the OP (and myself) are trying to figure out..

Oh wait.. I just read Steve's reply again and think I get it (but I probably don't, haha).
Essentially as more air enters the voltage on the MAF increases until it reaches its max limit. A bigger MAF would allow more air to enter without the voltage reaching its limit.

Yes?

I'd like to go with the Hydra or AEM but here in Pennsylvania we have to get emissions tests every year and I would fail with either of those and I don't know any one that can do the lick n' stick for me. I've considered the UTEC to piggy back my current tune but I'll probably wait till me engine give out and gets rebuilt first.
Just inspect another car and take the sticker off that with a heat gun.
