It's a system that burns fuel in the exhaust system, creating rapid explosions in the exhaust piping... Purpose being to keep the turbo spooled even when off the gas.

VERY hard on pretty much everything related to the exhaust piping... including the turbo. Not something you can just do on any car, it's a specially designed system.

Here's a "technical explanation" of it:

Thanks for the response... I guess this explains why they use Inconel as the material of construction.

Check out the Cosworth ECPro for the 2008+ STI...

it's pretty cool. I wouldn't recommend running it on a street car, but sick for track cars. It includes a built in ALS that operates using your cruise control buttons on the steering wheel!!!

There's no special hardware needed for this one, it runs by modifying the tune from what I can tell. Someone please correct me if I'm mistaken.

There's even a pretty lcd dash panel display that can be user modified and optimized for the information that you need. It would be super sick to ditch the dash all together and just pop that thing over the steering wheel! Another great way to drop 5 dimes...

You can get the antilag effect "holding boost between shifts" with FFS. It's less aggressive than what the Wrc used to use and for the street and track is well worth it. I use Fuel cut on my "Rally style anti lag" on my ems to keep boost between shifts. I can hold around 15 psi on the stock snail. You could cut fuel also but the risk is not worth it to me. It sounds like there are fire crackers going off at the back of the car.
