This EVO IX has 370hp (simple tuning, only exhaust & ecu + boost controller)

YouTube - Evo IX von Importracing

0-60mph @ 3.5sec
0-100mph @ 9 sec
0-124mph @ 12.5sec

By watching the video I measured 118mph in ~12 seconds.

---

The STi 2008 has 305hp. If I get the best performance tuning I found - AMR Stage 3, the STi gets about 375whp, which is ~487hp!!!

According to AMR this gets to 118 mph in 12 seconds - also.

Somebody please explain to me, how is it possible that the new 487hp STi is comparable to 370hp EVO IX

I am just so dissapointed :(

You can see on the video, that this EVO IX has 6 speed, other than the exhaust and ecu, it is completely stock.

One would hope that an extremely tuned 2008 STi ($35K for the car, $7K for the tuning) - would easily beat 2006 EVO IX with such a basic tune ($20K for the car, $2K for the tuning)

According to: http://www.fastestlaps.com/car477885665e2b3.html

It is a fact, that EVO VIII FQ-400 (399hp) gets 0-100mph in just 9.4 seconds - that's comparable to that EVO IX in the video mentioned above - thus makes my assumptions correct.

So, a highly tuned 08 STi (~487hp) is comparable to EVO IX (~400hp) ...imho kind of disappointing...

The conclusion: if you want to race get an EVO IX, if you want comfort & style get BMW, if you want a bit of both get 08 STi.
