Napa or advance auto parts have the bearings or you can look up rock auto they have it too that's where I got mine .

I don't think the front is the same as the rear they are different

I just replaced my front driver side with a Koyo bearing, it's an OEM replacement bearing. Before it was pressed in I cleaned out the bearing grease that came with it and repacked it with better grease made by Valvoline/ European-Japanese imports. So far no problems. I'm planning on replacing the driver side this weekend as it has the classic symptoms of the "whom, whom, whom" sound at low speeds(around 20-25 mph). I got both bearings at NAPA auto for $98 w/ military discount and went with OEM for inner and outer seals. Here's what I found on the driver side. The last pic was taken from the bottom of the knuckle. I've never seen wheel bearing grease leak out like that before. So glad I'm doing this as this could have been more $$$.

So I have an 04 STi and need to replace the rear bearings. Thought the front were bad so I replaced them but I'm still getting the brake pad knock back. So it's time to do the rear. I wanted to ask about the seals for the rear bearing. From there research I've done it looks like there are three seals? Is that right, I would have thought there was just an inner and outer.
On a side note does anyone prefer a brand of seal? There is national, timkin, and Beck Arnley. Those are the brands that i reconized but wanted to know if anyone prefers one over the other. I like Timkin for bearings (the rear timkin should be 516003). I used nationals (seals) for the front bearings mostly because I had the hook ups when I got those. I can get Timkins locally.

There are only two seals. Maybe you're looking at the c-clip as well?

Whatever brand you end up going with (I prefer OEM) don't forget to get a new hub as well.

I really wouldn't change the bearings unless you knew they actually needed replacing. Pad knockback is inevitable with the 04 STi bearings, especially if you use really sticky tires. Look into rebuilding the calipers with anti-knockback springs, or upgrade to 05+ knuckles. LIC Motorsports has a conversion so you can stay 5x100.

Per the above diagram which is for the STi model and all the diagrams that I've seen shows seal # 15,16,17 (C-clip being 14). From my understanding there are two spots on the back side for the to fit in. One over the other.
Then why is the hub always recommended? When I replaced the front wheel bears I didn't replace the hub and I've had zero problems with them.
I've troubled shoot the issues that I'm having and it fits for a wheel bearing. The brake pedal is long only after going around a corner but never in a straight line. Rotors have been replaced so its not them causing the issue. I bought my self a shop press for doing bearing and bushings (I'm shocked how often I use it) so it's really just parts cost for me. I enjoy working on the car. I would consider knock back springs when I rebuild my calipers. I'm not sure the the conversion is legal for the STU class that I'm in. I really haven't had many problems with the bearings.
Jdblock thanks for responding

Cause if a hub fails prematurely you have to 1) do the job again 2) buy new wheel bearings and seals. There has been many times a wheel bearing goes bad because of a bad hub.

On the top of that page you linked it says "image may not be application specific." The first post of this thread has list of the parts you need. I've done this job before and there is only 2 seals.

Here's a "kit" from a reputable Subaru repair shop. One bearing and two seals.

do these bearings come prepacked with oil? Do we need to pack any additional oil before installing the oil seals?
