Hey guys searched through all the pages of the how to section and came up with nothing, also I have an 06 sti. So my question is, Where should i mount my EGT sensor? I have a stock up pipe and my downpipe is an invidia catted. Now i am not sure if the DP has a bung for the sensor or not? Hopefully your guy's knowledge can help me out.

Thanks,
andrew

The biggest problem with the prosport EGT setup is that they don't include the thermocoupler needed to connect it (probe) to the header (where it should be mounted). There should be plenty of info out there about where/how to install it. Actually, prosport was absolutely no help in assisting me to find one, and i needed to order a few to figure out which was the correct one... that still irritates me.

I got a stainless steel one from omega.

I actually remember talking to you. You dont need a thermocoupler. Its very simple, you just need to drill and tap a 1/8 NPT fitting the screw in the sensor. :/

Sorry we wernt much help...

Don't put your EGT sensor anywhere but the exhaust manifold. Anywhere else and as you get farther away from the exhaust ports the closer you get to having a set of pretty lights on your dash that don't mean anything. The ideal location would be a few inches from the head on the runner that you expect will run hottest. Having an 07, I put mine about three inches downstream from cylinder 4. I expect this one to run hottest as many have claimed its first to go lean. Piece of mind for my stock internal 07 I guess. As FleaDog said, you need some way to mount the thing in the manifold. My Defi gauge came with a 1/8npt fitting so I drilled and tapped with a 11/32in drill bit and a 1/8npt tap. Worked great.
