Question to anyone who may know,
for the Prodrive 3-Port Boost Control Solenoid, i was wondering if i could drive with it on untuned while out of boost. I KNOW not to run it and what could happen but my tuner is far away and i just didnt know if there was a way i could put it all together and drive with no boost there and get tuned. May sound like a like a dumb question to some but just wondering. I guess i could put it on there but just wanted to know if that was possible.
Thanks a lot.

From what I remember when talking to others, you should not drive untuned with the boost solenoid. Can your tuner send you a map so that you can drivce there without boost? Thats what I am planning to do when I get mine, but my car will still be trailered up there.

actually all of you guys are wrong, my tuner told me to install the solenoid, and drive to the tuner as long as you dont hit boost....under one condition, you unplug the maf sensor, which puts the car in speed density mode, to allow it to be done safely......and yes im speaking under experience, in that i have done it

I think as long as you stay out of boost it shouldn't be a problem, I mean all the solenoid is doing is controlling the wastegate. It would be no different than installing a new turbo and driving to the tuner. It's not that hard to stay out of boost, I drove over five hours on the highway to get tuned and stayed out of boost the whole time.

You won't need the restrictors, replace all of the line. What you should do is get it all hooked up, then simply take the one line that goes from the turbo outlet (boost source) and plumb it directly to the wastegate. That way before you get tuned you will be running WG boost and you can bring a pair of pliers with you and swap the vacuum lines.

FWIW, I install most aftermarket BCSs on cars that I tune just because most people don't know how to do it right. I tried before to let people hook it up themselves, but then the tune usually would end up taking longer than if I had done it myself.

well heres the issue. My tunner said that he was having a problem making boost pressure because i was missing a restrictor in my line to the compressor. He said he was doing all he could from the computer but i guess it was giving him some trouble.
