Where does the 2nd one go?

Well you might not need to replace the second one that's on the left side of the pump, just the return line, but I would by 2 just incase. Inspect the side for leaking and change if needed

sorry for the crappy pic. I just took it lol

Well mine is an 08. Not sure where it is on your year. Look for like a 14mm bolt. It holds a spring down so be carful when removing it.

That spring is what allows this PS-pump to vary its displacement. This pump is a Variable Displacement Rotary Vane type.

A few years back my WRX had these symptoms. Dealer replaced the pump. Pump alone was $570. To think it just needed O-rings! Just one if the many experiences that led to me doing so much more of my own work. IWSTI has been a great source if information too.

I only know about the one...
So is this the o ring you replaced pictured below??

You may just have air getting into the system. How many miles? I've have an 08 sti and have 67k on it. Had to replace both O-rings and swapped out that crap OEM clamp with a SS hose clamp and be sure to flush with new fluid and you should be good.

I would switch out said items before assuming it's the pump.

I have 71k on my 08 and mine probably started to squawk around 62k...the colder it was the longer and louder it got...but we only have so many cold days here in fla. So i was able to ride it out for a while.

I have 97k on mine and it did the same. Now that I changed out the o rings and went an extra step and replaced the OEM return line with a SS braided line, all is good. :D

Looks like I'll be ordering a new pump. I tried everything you guys mentioned... to no avail. Damn... $500 for a freakin steering pump.
