I think that code means that the reader doesn't understand the code. I had my AP show me something similar to that one time.

yea......i reset the ECU once when i put the new rear o2 sensor in......and then in about 60-80 miles later got the PFFFE code.......so im a little stumped.....i think its something to do with the o2 sensor and not the plugs or injectors......but i dont get that even with the CEL's for the rear o2 deleted im still getting the PFFFE code.....???

 

PFFFE is not a valid code. you should hava a p followed by a 4 digit number like P0420. Take your car to autozone and let them read the code and repost. Good luck.

 

Any update on this situation? I have the Same code pop up...have been running with "PFFFE" and "PFFFF" for almost 2 years now !!!! No one knows what this code means....only that it is some sort of miss fire code! I have taken mine to autozone and their scanner reads, "No codes detected", taken it to Subaru dealership where i bought the car....same results!

 

Don't take this as gospel, but the PFFFE and PFFFF codes seem to be related to rhe 2006MY STi. I don't know that anyone has figured out of this is a misfire code or what it is but do make sure the gas you have in your car is upto the spec you have it tuned for. Hope someone else will add to this mystery...

There are 6 codes for the tgv's. Ask Hill to make sure he disabled them all. Before that call, check the rear 02 wiring for any bad kinks or burns.

 

Are you using something other than the stock ebcs? If you don't have a pin in the factory ebcs connector to complete the circuit, it will throw a code.

I had Hill turn off all rear o2 sensor codes and tgv delete codes......also the rear o2 sensor is brand spankin new......so i have no clue what the problem is........the car runs great even with the code......but it is a pain in the a@@ because i have to check the CEL's every once in a while to make sure this is the only code the ECU is registering....

 

Look I have the same code on my car, it popped up after I replaced my master brake cylinder. Can someone shed some light?!?

 

i get pfffe and pffff about every 3 days. car runs great, maybe hesitates on rare occasion at idle. no problems after initially dyno tuned my 2010 sti. then, after installation of my beatrush aos/ catch can the cel's started.

why?
