So from reading this thread it seems caliper paint is the way to go for durability. Does anyone know how much that would adversely affect cooling? Seems to be a few concerns from others about the thickness of the paint.

Is there any perceivable difference or are we just talking tenths of a percent type difference?

Thanks

It upsets me a bit that this rumor still has weight. The fins are so long and when you paint them you are just painting the edge of one end....it's ridiculous to think it has any effect. Confidently spray the logo on with no worry my friend. Bent fins are much more of a concern than this. Maybe there would be some argument if people dipped the whole thing in paint, but painting the logo on with a stencil is just such a minor area when the whole fin is taken into account, not just the end we see. My bud painted the outside of the whole tmic black then did the logo, and his tuner reports no noticeable change.

I think I already posted this but, do NOT use Radiator paint! The heat from the IC is too much and it will flake off badly! Just use engine enamel or anything with a super high temperature rating! You're not going to clog up the fins or degrade it's cooling ability.
