The OEM one is perfect IMO. Fitment is pretty good for the most part. For the price it's not that bad either.

I think the vortex generator looks good on a black STI.Not sure how it would look on my CWP STI.Also,if they are not installed right they could be a moisture trap.OEM is the way to go!

 

If I get one, I could have it painted CWP to match. Thoughts?

 

Meh you might regret that. I feel it would be to much white. If you're going for a white on black look, I think it would be pretty nice. I have a ISM and silver on black is pretty legit. Think it would be the same for a CWP on black. Just my .02

I think the newer STI's with the larger shark fin on the roof kind of make the vortex generator look like it is two piece.I like the looks of the older STI's with the OLM vortex generator

Arrived safely today...

A4 installation booklet is 4 pages long!

Seems to be the correct size all round...

Car is going into the paintshop next week for a cpouple of touch ups before I get some paint protection film applied (damn the crap soft Subaru paint ) Will get them to fit the part then.

 

How does it look overall from just placing it on there?? Excited to see the end result!

Any one tried OEM vortex on 2017s? I heard that they don't fit right because of the larger shark fin? Did they release an updated one for the 2017s or our we SOL on the oem version?

 

I have the OEM vortex generator on my 2017

I think the difference you'll notice vs a 2015/16 is that there's not paint showing between the generator and the back glass. Probably just a personal preference on the looks. I prefer not having the paint show since mine is white and you can obviously see it. On a black car it wouldn't really matter.

The cut out is approx 900mm deep by 800mm wide. Overall the part is approx 125mm in depth.

Not sure of the whole black and white contrast thing.If it was black no problem.maybe I will cut the VT in half and put it on the wing.
