OEM STI BBS wheels worth it?

I have a 2007 STI Limited with the stock wheels. These are different then the BBS wheels found on the regular STI model.

Would there be any benefit for me to switch out my STI Limited wheels for the OEM BBS STI wheels? I see them for pretty cheap in the classifieds from time to time.

Thanks.

I have a UGM.

I was thinking that forged BBS wheels would have a weight and strength advantage over cast Enkei wheels.

It is true that only 800 STIs in the states have my wheels so I guess that is a plus.

The BBS rims are a bit stronger/lighter. The Limited went with a less expensive rim to offset the more expensive content included in the car. You could probably swap your rims for a set of BBS + cash, if you so desired.

Keep you wheels. They are unique, beautyful, strong and pretty light (21.1lbs). They are not forged, but very strong. The OEM gold BBS are little lighter (19.2lbs), little stronger and anybody can buy them on e-bay for cheap price ($600-700). I got 2007 STI Prl. Wht. with gold OEM BBS. I also bought STI Enkei (like you have on your limited edition) from the dealer about $1800 as a second set. They are still in the boxes in my garage and for sale on e-bay this week, but thank you for inspiration, I will cancel my sale. I just needed little bit money, but I rather eat can food and keep my beauties.

I suggest for you to buy nice set of OEM gold BBS. Keep one set for winter and your enkeis for summer. This way you will enjoy both and have some variaty.

Dealers no longer have the Enkeis for sale for limited STI and they are beaytiful, unique wheels with briliant high quality finish.

Oh, forgot to mention, the fitment on oem rims is spectacular and enkeis fit like a lego pieces together on the hubs, and I always enjoy looking at clearance between the brembo calibers and the rim a mare 1-2mm:eek:
It is pettyful to see how people get rid of the most perfect fitting OEM rims for their STIs

Daaaaaaaaaaaamn! You're

I wish I kept my 06 tails. When I sold cars, I swapped them with the 04 RS we had at work. The funny thing is, we already had a crashed 04 STi sitting underneath the tent. I could've just taken the tails from those instead and just removed the Nasic sticker :smash:

I'm not thinking about resale value, I should've kept it as spare ( you never know ). This will be the first and last time I ever do something negligent like that

Thanks for the reply. I really like how both the BBS and Enkeis look. Since the BBS wheels are so cheap, maybe I will just get a set for winter like you suggest.

I do need to buy a replacement Enkei for the one I curbed though

I don't understand Limited owners dumping the stock rims. Just get a second set of BBS as mentioned. Heck, I keep all my stock parts and I don't even have a limited. Mainly for resale value down the road. IMHO it cheapens the value in the long run, especially on a limited producuion car, if you don't have the original parts that made it "special."
