Got a 2012-GR STI

Installed the 2-Row Mishimoto Performance Aluminum Radiator. Note, this ain't the 3-Row X-Line version.

Everything was plug and play and install was uneventful, had to trim the top hose about 3/8's of an inch to make sure it won't get too close to the belt / pulleys (all other hoses left as-is). To be honest, I'm not sure if the 2-Row version is an actual upgrade from stock. The stock may be one row but it has a lot higher fin per inch density than the Mishimoto unit (stock looks like it has twice as much). Mishimoto doesn't seem to have a tech article on the 2-Row unit for the GR's so I'm not sure how effective it is (couldn't find engineering notes on the site).

Nevertheless, one does get more water in the system (extra row) and considering this thing is fully welded and doesn't have any plastic parts - no cracking.

The main reason why I upgraded mine when I had my STI. Dealt with 2 cracked ones from Subaru and said screw it

Get a Ron Davis radiator. Those things are a work of art and are used in real race cars, not just DDs that see occasional track time. Google it in this site and the interwebs and you will see.

No legit Tracking. Some pretty hard driving on some desert middle of nowhere roads for extended periods probally around 20mins of hard abuse (LIWA, UAE) As well as 2 hard runs up Jabel Hafeet Al Ain, UAE its 12kms up a mountain w/ switch back turns and extreme altitude change, google that one and youll get the idea. I did drive the car to work at 100+mph for 89miles one way, everyday back and forth to work in the Middle East heat 120+ Sorry for no Dyno numbers yet but im sure my cars is a 400whp + car ill back that up soon runs 23lbs of boost and is water/meth t60r turboed the works. The radiator is up to the job

This looks like a dammed good testament to the X Line.....

Was wondering is the mishimoto and super coolant would work well for my 2011 sti DD
1- the thread is old
2- stay away from mishi and go koyo. Or if it’s only a dd, stock. Whichever is cheaper really.
