Just installed invidia n1 -- exhaust leaks?!

Hello,

I just installed an invidia n1 onto my subbie. The exhaust mounts up to the stock downpipe. The exhaust is 3" and the stock dp is 2.5".

I notice leak pretty bad where the dp and midpipe connect. There is no leak obviously where the 3"midpipe meets the 3" axle back.

1. What are the negatives to the leak? Will it melt something under neath my car?
2. I took the donut out of the stock dp for it to match up to my invidia n1. Yes I used the supplied gasket.
3. I had to get different bolts other than the stock ones because they were shit.

Any insight or advice? I am very paranoid of the leak because I am worried it will damage my subbie in some what? Did I make an error by taking out the donut? Should I put the donut back in and run it without the supplied gasket?

Thanks guys!
Let me know what to do, I am sweating bullets.

I have this same issue with my CNT quad tip. It almost drowns out the leak sound but I'm just waiting to install my downpipe. I suppose the exhaust adapter might work. The way I was looking at it, I don't think it will. I think the adapter goes a little on the inside of the exhaust and there is some sort of metal piece in the stock downpipe right at the end there. I wish I had a picture.
