Looking at these 2 exhausts and trying to decide. Both are obviously single exit. From what I can gather they both sound roughly the same, the tomei may be a tad raspier than the N1. I know the Tomei is lighter, but by how much? The whole system is Ti and weighs I think 16lbs or so. As far as the cars intended use it is basically my weekend driver and it will probably never see a racetrack. The car is currently stock and will be with only a catback for sometime.

Any opinion on these two systems is appreciated. One upside to the N1 is that it is $400+ cheaper than the Tomei so definitely makes it appealing.

Thanks

The Tomei is amazing quality especially when u consider the price. My neighbor has a Ti catback on his M1 that Cost him 5k. The sound of the Tomei is fantastic alone and even better when paired with a catless DP. The silencer is a huge plus when you need oem db level and a breeze to put on and off. It looks like a work of art and weighs about nothing. I love mine. I have no experience with the invidia but I do run their catless DP and it is awesome quality for the money. I couldn't be happier. I'm sure their catback won't disappoint.

The Tomei is extremely well made, more in the range of 11 lbs or so -- you can easily hold the whole catback in one outstretched hand. You can't bend titanium so the bends are made of individual welded sections. Awesome craftsmanship.

IMO -- if you're looking for loud, either will work. If you want very high quality construction and/or the best possible tone, I'd go for the Tomei.

Thanks for the replies. That is pretty sweet that it is 11lbs or so. I noticed the tone on the tomei from the vids is a little different. Just have to figure out which one to go with seeing as how they are pretty similar from a sound standpoint.

Thanks for the opinions.

Where are your facts to back up that claim? I've had a full Invidia exhaust on my car for years in New Jersey winters and everything looks the same as when I put it on. Welds are beautiful and the material is top notch. Sound like a Tomei fan boi to me. I actually have a buddy that currently has a broken weld on his Tomei that hes trying to get out from under

Funny this thread popped up as im in the middle of deciding on a new catback and ive narrowed it down to these exact 2 exhausts as well! Im leaning towards the N1 myself as ive heard a few stories of the tomei cracking and not repairable. Dont wanna spend a grand and need a new exhaust in a year to save a few pounds. I only drive my car on the weekends so im not concerned with saving weight. Just want a solid good sounding exhaust for a good price!

Thanks very much for the order! I think you made a great choice on this. After selling exhausts full-time for the past 11 years and seeing the issues first-hand my vote is definitely for real CNC’d flanges. I just thought I would reply to this thread with some weight data in case anybody was interested in this:

Single exit Invidia steel exhaust: 38 lbs

Single exit Invidia titanium exhaust: 12 lbs

Dual exit Invidia steel exhaust: 47 lbs

Dual exit Invidia titanium exhaust: 19 lbs

Thanks,
Geoff
