It may be the differentials allocating power. I have had the same sound and it was even more exaggerated when I threw coils on the car (less suspension travel).

 

This sounds like binding which normal sound on these cars when taking low speed full turns usually.

 

I had same noise under same tight turn slight incline condition when I forst brought car home from dealer at ~ 15 miles. Thought I'd scraped the exhaust tips but making a slightly wider turn no noise. I've heard same thing in my truck with limited slip rear differential so I figure it's the STI's front LS differential. Seems to have quieted considerably after the first several hundred miles.

 

I have that noise too. I think its the skid plate because my driveway is gravel and when I occasionally get the sound of the drive way you can hear the gravel breaking loose to something hitting it. Not the differential. You wanna hear the diff noise? Throw your dccd in full front manual, and take a turn in a parking lot... Apples and oranges.

Ive been under my car many times, theres no damage. No sign of scraping... Its pretty weird tbh

 

Mine does this as well, and I too figured it was just the diff compensating for something.

 

Mine too for few times, the scraping noise. But i haven't heard it for a while. I think it was the diff slipping or something.


The rear diff still clunks if i turn and drive over driveway at an angle in 1st gear before the clutch fully engaged.

 

That's bc u are getting one of the wheels to lift. Torsen diffs require all wheels to be on the ground.
