Biggest scrap I ever saw........But after TGV delete and injectors it went back on, minus the TGV housing bolts per customer request. Did I say I hate those brackets?

How the heck do you remove this bolt (passenger side near radiator) with the hard line in front of it?

I used search on two different forums, and from what I can tell, if I had a GD STi I would be done by now because the write ups are pretty thorough for those. GR Injector write ups leave much to be desired.

This is the last bolt I need to remove this bracket, and I'm at the point where I want to kill something.

If you unbolt the the TGVs from the heads you can lift it enough to get that bolt out.

 

don't remove - just bend

Brackets of death is RIGHT. They might as well file down the ends of them to a razor sharp edge.

That said I loved the fact that the Motive TGV deletes did not have the bolt hole provisions for the brackets. I promptly threw them in the scrap pile.

Hi sorry to resurect this, but I'm trying to figure out where to mount the pass side TMIC bracket after deleting the brackets of death. I couldn't find any pics or info online. Doing TGVs and fuel rails so I can't put them back.

Do they fit over aftermarket rails (I bought IAG ones)? It doesn't look possible to me to just put them back on, but not certain. Let me know. Thanks.

 

Mine are a little different on the GD, but I trimmed the passenger bracket for mounting my overflow and power steering lines. Otherwise, I remove the brackets.

When you delete these brackets what do you do about the bolt for securing the upper coolant reservoir. Just leave it with the 2 upper bolts?

 

I cut the bracket and used that section so I could mount the reservoir.

 

I had to search for a while to figure out they are called the "brackets of death." I'm at the passenger front side bending point trying to get my intake off for new fuel rails and injectors and such. It sounds like most remove them. Party.
