no, its my wastegate. bov's dont sound like massvie exhaust leaks. besides i can fell exhaust leaking from my wastegate when the car is idling

 

well if thats the case you most likely broke the spring inside the wastegate, best bet would be to R&R it, wastegates are relitively simple in design, theres only so much that can happen

 

Is your car still making boost? Or you just feel the turbo doesn't make power?

 

well from what he says, its blowing exhaust out at idle which means there no tension holding the valve down. unless by chance theres some foriegn object stuck in there and holding its most likely the spring

the car makes like 7 psi at 5700 rpms lol. its gota be wastegate spring ill update tommrow when i pull the wastegate apart thanks for the info guys

 

Yeah, maybe the spring broke or possibly the valve. It should be a really simple item to check out.

 

ok guys i removed the lower end of the waste gate spring came flyin out and almost took off my head hahaha. anyways theres nothing wrong with the wastegate spring is fine, it was slightly jammed but once i started playing with it it moved and now is fine has full range of motion. now my only problem is how do i go about getting the spring compressed enough to put the lower end of the wastegate back on any tips or trick cause i think this is gonna suck

 

No, there is no trick. Its just really hard to compress the spring and get it all back on. I had a friend push it together and I put the screws in it. You probably need a second person.

 

Got a vise? or maybe some kind of c-clamp? Not really sure never done it before. :lol:

 

I've done it on the car with 2-4 people, but it's much easier off the car with a padded vise.
