Element GT52 or FP Green w/ Meth?

What the title says. I would like to go with one of these turbos by next summer or sometime in the next year. I like the ease of both to install, but from what I've read so far I can either go the gt52 route without meth and make comprable power to the fp green with meth. I know to make more power I could get the gt52 and spray meth with that, but I really do not want to pass 400whp since my car is my dd. Both of these turbos, the fp with meth and element without are good for about 400whp. A lot more people run the fp green, and I know it's a great product, but the power of the gt52 is on par with a rotated 30r. I've read a lot about both of these turbos, and if I went with the green I would most likely go with 8cm housing, unless I came across a price I could not refuse with the 7cm. Strangley enough, if I'm still broke as a joke by this time next year, I might just settle for a 20g. Then meth would be a necessity! It's not that I am completely against using methanol, but I feel like it throws in a whole other set of variables on a car that's daily driven. But I've ridden with a friend who ran meth with his gt35r and I know how addicting it is! So, basically fp green with meth or gt35r without? Any ideas? Decisions decisions...

I don't know where a GT35R would come from for a DD, I think that is just way too big for a DD. If I were you, I'd run a 20G with Meth. Meth will make it so your car runs safer and faster basically. The 20G has better spool than all of those and chances are you won't be using the full power of a GT52/FP Green on the streets as a DD unless you're racing..

If you're going to race and put it on the track than ignore my post, but as a DD I would get a 20G with Meth. Plus you would save A LOT of money.

From all that I have read about these turbos, the gt52 stacks up against the rotated 30r, but hits the wall much faster because it has less potential since it's a bolt on opposed to a rotated set up. Meth over a long period of time will cause cylinder wash, there is no way around it. Thats why the gt52 looks good since I would be able to hit big power without meth. But, a 20g with meth is cheap and quick too. Dragon, I have never considered a 35r. That is what my friend ran. He was a user on here. I think his name was B4rstiws or something like that. I rode in his car and I know how it felt, and would like to have some additional power myself.

I dont think i've ever seen anybody that wasnt happy with their rotated setup.. IMO they are so much better if you are going for higher HP, IMO i think it's a mistake NOT to go rotated..

^ The reason I regret going rotated was the custom intercooler piping that had to be made, the extra cost in the kit for intake, DP, re-routing of oil lines, etc. I even had to get a Turboxs 3bar map sensor to get the tune dialed in. Has any other 35R kit had to get one of those? I could have just swapped turbos since I already had the fuel upgraded at the time as well as saved a sh*t load of money. Plus the lag of the 35R was irritating over time...the next STi will be done right in every way...in due time

Yeah i figured either you had a bunch of problems with it, or it wasnt tuned correctly, or you were more of an autox guy and preferred a better spooling turbo and not so much of just top-end. I went with the 30R because i was afraid the 35R would be a bit too laggy for me, and IMO its the best turbo if you want a very fast daily driver that still spools decently (4K full boost) and pulls all the way through to redline. I havnt had any problems so far and i've put 16K miles onthe stock block with this setup..

That's weird that you had to get custom piping made, what intercooler were you running? I didnt have to do that, im running a perrin intercooler though with their turbo kit so that could be why ;).. Yeah, when i go get the race gas tune im getting a custom intake made, the intake that comes with the perrin kit just doesnt want to idle good with my car and it'll stall sometimes when i clutch in above 2K rpm.. Im surprised you had to get the turboxs 3bar map sensor to get it to run correctly, i've never heard of somebody having to get that before.. See the couple people that i know that went with bolt-on turbo (SZ55 and dominator 3) had more problems with going bolt-on and both tell me they wish they went rotated from the beginning, the guy with SZ55 is running 24psi and meth to make the same power i am at 22psi and straight pump gas on the same dyno and he put in more money than i did for his setup.. Bolt-ons are expensive for turbos, and once you get the meth injection and and an EWG (which a rotated kit comes with), usually you're over the price it would cost for a nice rotated kit..

Buuuunce! What's up man? I wish you still had some parts I could buy from you. I'll let you know what I decide on for the turbo. I think either route would be plenty fast on the street. Call me whenever you're in town.
