does it matter where the cat is on an exhaust

I have a catless exhaust. In the future, I was thinking of either getting a catted dp or having a race shop weld in a high-flow cat somewhere past the dp after cutting out an exhaust section. anyone know the pros/cons of each method?

Anywhere from the mid point of the car towards the engine is good. The cat activates off heat & therefore the closer to the motor the better. But w/our cars there are o2 sensors placed accordingly so be sure the cats are between them in a stock fashion. I'd say just get a catted DP & save the hassle. Cobb TBE? Mine's been great. Good luck.

cats need 5-600 deg F to "light off" as long as you reach that temp it really doesnt matter where you put it.
