I thought we'd get some info by now but nothing other than the new Impreza.

Any ideas when we'll have some?
Trying to figure out if I should just get the 2011 or wait.

I know the 2012 will have the same chasis and body as 2011. I do hear rumours before about it possibly getting the new engine though. I really hope that's the case.

Also, Subaru is keeping the 2012 STI pretty much the same as the 2011 STI. If there are ANY changes at all, it would be very minor.

As much as I love to see changes and improvements per MY, I have a feeling that the recent Japanese disaster means no changes at all for the 2012 model.

But even a minor facelift might be nice. :)

So the STi will probably not gain power or lose weight over the course of 9 years since 2004 right.. yikes. I understand not wanting to change a winner much but really it isn't hard to throw on a slightly bigger turbo and tune it accordingly and send it out the factory with at least 350hp I would think. Then Again, I am a n00b :)

Subaru can't keep some stock 305HP 2.5L engines from blowing ringlands. What makes anybody think they would raise power levels? I'd rather they sell it at 285HP and make it bullet proof for all day WOTS for the everyday joe. For the rest of us tweakers we all know what we need to do for 350HP at the crank:tup:

Gentlemans agreement between the 3 men that are in power at FHI,Mitsubishi motors,Nissan motors had a 3 way Promise to not raise the HP of there respective high performance models w/ out consent unanimously I.E..STi,GT-R,Evo.
And since Evo is getting killed off we may finally see increase in STi HP in 2013

hey buddy. do NOT wait for 2012 STI. if you wait and buy it, it will say 2011 on the driver door sticker (a black label). if you buy a 2011 model, most likely it will say 2011 on the black sticker. it's because those STIs with 2010 stickers have already been sold out and they kept manufacturing in 2011 as well. i hope it makes sense.

the only difference will be the title which will say 2012 STI.

good luck!

Crap! If the 2013 looks like that, I don't think I'm waiting. Looks like the Acura designers got fired and now are working for Subaru.

If the 2012 doesn't get the new engine, with better turbo design, I might have to step up and buy a now somewhat more affordable and better performing Audi S4 instead.

Everyone always complains about every new design but then they buy them:)

And if you are considering the new S4 then by all means I would get that although most people don't cross shop cars that are in such different price ranges. The new S4 is a better performer for sure but the issue I have is it looks damn boring and are like $60K. Might as well Just get used GTR and call it a day. I saw one for $57K on line
