ok got the boost gauge and control unit hooked up. on my 04 the light wire was white/red and not pink/blue like the one on the 1st page. everything else was the same. if my pod ever gets here i'll be ready to rock :D well after i hook up the oil pressure sensor ... thanks for the directions, they helped. it was super easy, CU and boost gauge took like 30-40 minutes thanks to the tips here!

Okay and sorry,
I got a little confused with all the talk about threads sizes and if you need adapters or not. On my 07 I'm installing the oil temp, do I need the gallery plug adapter if using celcius. Or can the fitting that came with the kit go directly in.

Awesome write up man, I just finished my install and here are couple things I don't like so far:

Air-bag Light being on.
When Lights are off, the Pod Gauges are not lit <- How to fix that? And you can't change their illumination through DEFI Link, will only work for Boost.

Thanks,
Tom

Double check your wiring - especially the illumination part. You should be able to change the brightness on all 3 gauges at the same time. Double check your daisy chain.

Make sure your harness is plugged into METER OUTPUT 2, not OUTPUT 1.

Airbag light, I can't help ya, my 05 didn't have that light.

Airbag light: Did you re plug in your dash clock (assuming you tapped there for one or more of the connections) and tuck it down in the dash? If not you need to, the clock is part of the airbag circuit.

Illumination: If you used the provided wire taps, make sure they're all getting a secure connection. Go to Radio Shack and get a $20 multimeter, it will make your life so much easier when troubleshooting any electrical problem. I was getting a bad ground and my illumination tap was stubborn. I thought I had a defective unit until I got the multimeter and found out what was really going on.

Ahh well my Boost is plugged into Meter 2, and the rest into Meter 1, so that may be the reason, but why wouldn't you be able to control illumination of both Meter Outputs. Or i'll just reroute the Boost Output to Pod chain instead of going to Meter Output 2.

As for the Airbag, I will just leave the clock tacked in there.

Thanks,
Tom

Meter output 1 is for defi-link meter and output 2 is for meter BF two differnt kinds of gauges. all should bu using bf2 in a dasiy chain.

You need to route your boost gauge wire to your other gauges, or vice versa, then have the single output from those gauges go to METER OUTPUT 2.

OUTPUT 1 will not work with BF series gauges.

I just rewired the Boost Gauge to go to the chain with other 3, hooked it up to Output 2, and all is good, also took out the Clock part from the original pod, stuffed it and mount it inside the pod area hidden away, so the air-bag light went out, all gauges are nicely adjustable and lit.

Thank you all for your help, once again very good Howto :)

i just used this write up to install my Boost and Oil pressure, i just hooked up the power wires to the radio harness and A/C harness instead so that everything comes on at the same time... thanks for the great write up...Next up is the EGT, might be a while though...

quick question guys.... Like the OP said, the t thingy for the boost gauge is to small for the stock bpv hose.... What size should I look for, I have the one that comes in the box

Theoretically, its possible. It depends on the size of the T you're using. There isn't much room, at both the intercooler and the alternator gallery plug. But if I had to choose which location to try it, i'd take the alternator. There's more space there for a potential "T".

I used the T that comes with the stock gauge. Try calling your local subaru parts dept and find out the part number for that T.
