I just had this problem every shaft the dealer tried from a local contractor was to short, first one came out of the car a mile down the road with me driving.

The contractor rebuilt my original shaft boot, if i had looked enough to know about the forester boots they probably wouldnt have given up on the rebuild with the wrong parts in the first place.
