Subaru Impreza Cosworth revealed - Autocar.co.uk

^^
This is Subaru's ultimate incarnation of the road-going Impreza, fettled by Cosworth to produce 395bhp and offer supercar-rivalling acceleration.
The Cosworth Impreza STi CS400 can get from 0-62mph in just 3.7sec, matching a Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 and beating the Ford Focus RS’s time by more than two seconds. Top speed is limited to 155mph.
See the official Subaru Impreza Cosworth pics
The standard STi’s 2.5-litre turbo engine gets high-performance pistons, high-strength steel conrods, Cosworth-spec engine bearings, a redesigned head gasket and a high-pressure oil pump. The turbocharger has also been modified, with a new compressor design and wastegate actuator.
A Cosworth-designed exhaust system and a remapped ECU complete the revisions, which also boost torque to 398lb ft.
The chassis is a joint effort between Cosworth, Bilstein and Eibach. The Impreza gets new coil springs and its ride height is 10mm lower. The front brakes are larger (355mm) AP Racing discs.
Styling tweaks include a new front bumper, foglights, mesh grilles and rear spoiler, and new 18in alloy wheels that help to widen the tracks by 12mm.
Inside, there’s a piano black centre console, privacy glass and new Recaro front seats.
Just 75 examples of the car will be made, all in right-hand drive and purely for the UK market. It’s available in just three colours: silver, dark grey and red.
The car will also be comfortably the most expensive road-going Impreza yet, at ÂŁ49,995.

Cosworth puts the spurs to Subaru's Impreza WRX STI — Autoblog

This is the Cosworth Impreza STI CS400, the car Cosworth said would "humble" supercars. With a 0-to-62 sprint happening in just 3.7 seconds it'll be quicker than a whole bunch of exotics, and at ÂŁ49,995 ($71,368 U.S.), it'll be a whole lot cheaper as well. If that sounds like a boatload of cash for a warmed-over WRX, well, it is. But bear in mind that thanks to factors like the 17.5 percent Value Added Tax, UK pricing is rather different than what pricing in the States would likely look like were Cosworth to sell the CS400 here.

The 395-horsepower, 398-pound-foot Cossie Scooby benefits from a thorough rework of its boxer-engined details, boasting new pistons, con-rods, turbocharger, exhaust and ECU mapping among its many modifications. Aiding the Impreza's all-wheel drive get power to the ground is a lowered suspension with components from Bilstein and Eibach.

Looks-wise, a different front bumper fitted with mesh inserts, a rear spoiler, a track widened by 12 millimeters, and 18-inch alloys over bigger AP brakes will make sure Subaru cognescenti don't confuse you with anything else. Identification will also be made easier by the fact that there will only be 75 made for the UK market only, and available it'll be available in red, silver, and dark gray.

This car is WAY more than a stage II... Track spec block, "re-worked" turbo (which I'm assuming is an 18g compressor wheel in the stock housing), exhaust, and full ECU tune.

It posts 395bhp, but I'm sure that this is a very moderate tune to provide stable, reliable power.

I personally think the Cosworth STI is pretty sick... Now where can I buy that rear window spoiler???

I cant wait to hear it run too with the cosworth exhaust system.

I'm going to do my interior Piano Black now. I need it. I must have it.

My interior is already Piano Black :D check member page ;) Collects DUST like a motha! But it does look great!

The cosworth STI looks wonderful and honestly i would definitely pay the premium in the states for one. Not sure what the price would be here though as we can't rely on a currency conversions.

Except i'd also do the shifter housing and Head unit housing in the gloss as well.

I love what you did with the suede/alcantera, but not a fan of the red tach housing.

Sweet grab a ticket! Stand in line! Not your car and not looking for a pat on my back :D Tell me something new about the gauge housing please!

Come back to me when you have the money to do all this ****, it isn't cheap :D Honestly the reason the silver was not painted as the shade was different than the dash parts and matched the door handles still and with already replacing 3 driver side armrest plastic parts from scratching I didn't want to paint them so I kept the silver, silver :D

But yeah the rest of the silver will eventually get touched but who knows, it will always be a work in progress. I like how the costworth did all of it in black, I plan on covering the center console piece with alcantara instead of paint as the painted interior parts although great are going to be harder to maintain. The stereo surround I will paint also. Thanks for the comments

But anyway, honestly enough of my car just posted the pics for comparison purposes! How about that cosworth though! I want one, now! Someone bring it over!
