Clicking and Popping Noises

I know that older models suffered clicking and popping noises from the suspension, I'm curious to if anyone had similar experiences in the 2015+?

What I'm noticing is when cruising down city roads that have gaps in the roadway I'm getting clunks/pops from my strut tower area. Imagine going 40 mph down a city street and getting (thud....thud...thud....thud).

When driving at slow speeds in reverse out of my driveway (incline) or turning in parking lots I'm getting little clicks from the rear struts (or near them).

I also know there is an active TSB for issues related to the struts. If anyone has that TSB they can link I'd greatly appreciate it.

Didn't think older models, GD's had front issues, and the only rear issue was strut clunk as they aged, virtually all them got it sooner or later.

Clicking and popping noises are extremely common on modded cars.

I wish, my VIN shows I have the improved strut from the factory. However, I'm still getting movement/clicking in my struts all the way around.

I took it to one of the many Subaru dealers we have here in Denver and they weren't very helpful. The service department seemed to not care and called the clicking "normal" movement. I know these cars are noisy and "mechanical sounding" in many ways, but damn. I don't believe a car with stock suspension and 19,000 miles should be making any odd clunking/clicking noises from the strut mounts. Period.

I lowered my rear seats and it makes the clicking noise coming from the rear struts very noticeable. I think I'm going to try another dealership that wants to support the enthusiast community more-so than what I experienced last week.

I know it's difficult to describe in writing, but can you try? Ha!

I told my tech that my passenger strut mount area gets a LOUD 'thudding" noise on certain road imperfections. You know that kind of roads that have that repetitious imperfection that causes suspension hits.

"Thud...thud...thud...thud"

However, my thuds are way, way louder now at 19,000 than say 5,000. It sounds like a small midget is beating the inside of my passenger-side dashboard with a baseball bat.

The technician brushed it off and thought I was crazy.

Your description is as good as I could come up with. That's what I experienced. The first time I went there they said they found a nut loose. Which was bs because the next week when I went back for the same issue they replaced it. I would recommend going back as many times as you can for the same issue. They will replace it

Your both on stock tires? Just my guess. Try a set of mpss if noise bothers you, they'll probably help even if they aren't the actual problem ! :)

Wait tires don't click and pop, but that isn't in the later descriptions here . . . the descriptions do remind me of the Toyos and stock GD suspension that were on my car when I bought it though.

sounds similar to a problem i had. i took the vehicle to subaru dealer (no warranty) paid $132 for their multi-point inspection. needless to say, it was simple. ball joints were loose. tightened everything to spec, and problem went away. they also fixed the issue (loose wire) where my reverse lights weren't coming on when i went into reverse....

okay, so I'm getting clicking noise only when I turn the wheel almost full lock to the right. The clicking intensifies as I accelerate but it doesn't happen all the time. IT's driving me nuts, I thought it was my strut tops. I have ohlins r&t coils on by the way so I have those tightened down. Still makes the sound. I don't know if it's the cv/axels but if they were they would sound like that all the time correct? I'm sure it's something simple, if anyone can shed some insight that would be awesome. this is also a 2015 STi
