I got a 244 CEL this morning with the new COBB 1.01 map.

Digitalfiend,Please do not close this thread...Chris from Cobb is asking for feedback in the first one you closed.

Hard pull in 5th gear,4% grade, 7800ft. elevation.I know...not ideal for an OTS map.

The car felt like it had more power than with the 1.01 map...till I got the "pop" and the code.

Re: Reporting Back

Ugh, not so good news :( I only got the code once on my Stage 2 ACN map v1.00 aboud 2 weeks ago. I switched to the v1.01 map last night. Hope I don't get the code again. So far so good.

Giant, I think you may want to rename this thread so its more clear for all. Just a suggestion.

I wasn't planning on closing this one. I didn't see any request for feedback from Christian in that other thread...just a pointer to the update (from another user), which is why I closed it.

This thread has a purpose. ;)

Are you able to do any datalogging for us?

I've added an update to the sticky telling people that still have the problem to post here.

i reflashed to 1.01 (93) then followed (as always after an ecu reset) the old "Vishnu" ECU/Ignition Advance Multiplier technique which you can find at this link. Re-Mapped ECU Learning Trick 10-20hp in 5 seconds :) - NASIOC which seems to work for me. I have noticed a bit of very low end "hesitation" compared to the factory map, and this was also a complaint by some with 1.00 map

cheers

i threw 0244 three times on the 1.00 stg 2 catted DP map and just wandered in the other day after about a month of being away and saw the updates for 1.01. reflashed this past saturday night (05/17) and the car is stronger than ever now. throttle response is improved and the jerkiness and hesitation between 2-3K rpm is all but gone.

btw, i performed a full reflash of the 1.01 map for those keeping score.

interesting.

i'm on the original stage1 map. and never saw a CEL...
i'm near sea level though with slight elevation now and then.

i wonder if i should upgrade the map or not.

your "running stronger than ever" statement makes me curious ;)

Reviving this thread. I got the same code today. I was actually not even on the gas, I was coming down an offramp with no accelleration. Check Engine, cruise, and traction control lights came on, and the started blinking.

I have an Invidia catted downpipe and AP Stage 2. I do have an exhaust leak, and I know/knew it because I heard it softly a few days after the install and then louder over the following days. Figured I'd get to it this weekend without any trouble but the code popped up today. I read the code with the AP and called a buddy who looked it up in the forums. Some Legacy guys reported the same thing and it was indeed an exhaust leak for them. Same kind of thing, AP Stage 2 and downpipe.

I torqued the bolts from the turbo to the DP with the recommended 26ft-lbs but it seemed ridiculously "not tight enough." I gave the torque wrench a little extra push after 26ft-lbs but maybe that still wasn't enough. I did not use ultra copper on it because it was a new gasket but maybe I'll do that when I get to repairing this.

Just wanted to semi-confirm the exhaust leak causing the problem.

I flashed to the 1.01 Stage 2 from 1.00 and its the 1st time I have been happy with the 08. It now pulls like the 04 did. I was never happy with Stage 2 1.00 getting the usual codes and sluggish performance. Not one code since 1.01 Base map was flashed. Time for full exhaust.
Happy again

I like how cobb put out the V1.01 map to "fix" the over boost problem..and all the cars are still throwing the code.. and now its the car's fault because the waste gate can't handle the load.... riiight... Im running perrin stg 1 93 right now.. have not thrown the code yet... if i do ill let everyone know... I read a guy on here did throw the code with Perrin but it was 91 oct.. so we'll see how it goes ..

Just treated to my first 0244 code on the way home today - very similar conditions to the OP:

v1.01 Cobb 91 Stage 1 map, no other mods
only 1220 miles, just started driving it hard
6000ft, coming up a steep hill in 5th at about 80mph, 95 degrees out

This hill (small mountain really) is the road up to my house. In my 05, I HAMMERED it up this hill EVERY day for 3 years and the car never protested. (Coincidentally, I could take the turns at almost 20 mph faster in the 05 with springs/sways. This thing feels like a UPS truck. Sways to be added this week....) This apparently VERY common CEL is a very upsetting development.

For All you Utah guys, I threw this code going up to park city. Constant downshifting to get around all the slow cars and trucks and then I finally gunned it pretty hard and the whole car lurched. I drove to park city with the cel on. Took out the two fuses in the passanger footwell, both were not blown. Put them back in and the Cel dissappeared and nothing else since.

I am almost tempted to go try the Park City drive again to see if it happens but it was quite a scary situation so I don't think I will.

Cobb v 1.01 91oct is the map I was using.

Hey guys,

Just threw my first code today as well with the v101 map 93 oct. Pulled it on 5th gear at about 5500 RPM while racing an IS 350 (I was blowing him away of course). Car is bone stock except for the AP and only has 1015 miles. As soon as the car hit 1000 miles I punched to see what it could do and it scared the bejeezus out of me when it popped and went into safe mode.

I'm in south florida where its flat and sea-level... Cobb's killing me with this map...
