I was a member here back in the day when i had an 09 hatch. Sold it for a truck/profession and have wanted to get back in the game ever since.

I picked up this 2018 last week and my trucks have been sitting on the curb since; feels good to be back!

Just wait, dom 1.5 xtr, but then to run that on ethanol you'll need id1300s, which means a bigger in tank pump, which means an iwire hard wire kit, which means you'll need a better clutch, which means you'll need suspension, and the brakes... And then a new block, might as well do heads. And why'd you pick the dom 1.5? Should have gone rotated so you don't have that inefficient hot side. plus an exhaust manifold because efficiency.

+38 is such a good offset for fitment.

I have the same offset and get so many compliments on my fitment.
I spent WAY too much time researching this stuff and +38mm was exactly the aesthetic i was after. I'm psyched to see how it turns out.

You can't go wrong with te37's. Any future plans for the car?

If not you probably will after our local turbo salesman finds his way here
I have spent the better part of 2 weeks emailing back and forth with Geoff from Cygnus Performance about suspension. I work in the performance truck suspension business so he and i can nerd out for about as long as we'll allow a conversation to go. I ordered his Comfort X-1 coilovers with High Caster Plates, Motorsports Upgrade, Neutral Swift Springs and the long-travel option. With these, i ordered the SPL Lower control arms to dial in rear camber.

Aside from suspension, wheels and tires, I'm trying to find a headunit to get carplay as the factory nav sucks. I actually don't hate the factory harmon kardon sound, but the UI of the headunit needs work. I've read enough to know the iDoing are trash, then all crutchfield reviews on Pioneer, Kenwood and Alpine units leave a lot to be desired. Stuck here at the moment, but that's all I've scoped for now.

Turbo is about the only thing untouched in the engine bay - I may be a perfect target.

I've built enough cars/trucks to understand this progression/domino effect. I am happy with the power as it sits, for now.... Check in on me in a year and i may well have all the above. I am not planning to modify the motor further as it was pro-tuned on a mustang dyno at Antspec/COBB to 340whp/440tq. It moves, already!

The iDoing is dependent upon the sound system you currently have.

If you have the HK system, it's garbage. The rear speakers will act like the front and can only be controlled by the fronts. You then lose all functionality of the HK sub. That's what made me go back to OEM until I find a good enough deal for a Sony or Pioneer HU that'll suit my needs.
Didn't know that. That's not an issue i ever read about for the gr's.

Legit iDoing units are pretty decent actually. Lots of us run them. The knock off ones on the other hand are really hit or miss.
Seems the consensus, once i dig in, is that they're slow, unreliable, finicky and freeze all the time and that the Android OS is garbage. It's a bummer; they look super sick. I would pay 2x what they're asking for one that everyone hailed as problem-free integration, but there's too many complaints for me to invest in the current unit. Glad you're stoked on yours! Wish i had faith I would be happy with it.

Interesting - then I'm DQ'ed as i don't plan to upgrade my stereo in this. That's normally the first thing i do in all my rigs, but i bought this car for windows down and exhaust note! I'm on the hunt for one of the Alpine or pioneer 9" units that has enough vertical adjustment to minimally impede the AC controls and air-vents. Can't seem to find any installed photos where anyone's run one the way I'd want. Most have them high, covering the air vents, without noting how much vertical adjustment can be made to accommodate the above bracketing.

Get the idoing unit from WRXdaily so that you will have a customer service source. I’ve had mine for two years and have no troubles at all. I run it with the factory upgrade Kickers and the OEM kicker sub in the trunk. Is it the best, no, but it does what I want. Looks good and sounds better than stock.
