Well, I was just surfing the old honda-tech forum and some guy had an opinion that the Sti was Pontiac Azteck ugly.

I mean, it's certainly no design tour de force but come on. It's no Azteck!

I didn't want to reply to the guy since that's his opinion. I just thought it was a little harsh.

I would call the Sti's looks purposeful. It's definitely leans more towards the form follows funtion school of design.

Man! an Azteck?! Yeah, like an Integra wins any beauty prizes either...

It's an acquired taste...you have to admit. But yes, some people don't get the look. Myself, being a rally fan for several years and a fan of the bug-eye look...the STi couldn't be more perfect. It is a very aggresive yet stylish look IMO.

I couldn't agree more, it certainly has an aggressive look to it. I have to admit, it took me a while to learn to love the bug-eye look. To be honest, I was almost dissapointed to see the new look, but now I'm right into it. Anybody I've shown any pictures of the car to seems to like the styling - one of my co-workers was like "she looks f***ing fast man." All he saw was the pic on my PC desktop at work. I'll be able to show him the real deal in less than two weeks! :D

I have to admit I never liked the bug-eyes/neon look of the new age imprezas. I appreciated the car for its abilities but never the look. It was less offensive with a body kit but not on my short list of cars to buy.

The first time I saw the facelifted STi I was sold. I believe it was a pic from the French auto show in Autoweek . I remember telling all my Subie enthusiast friends how great it looked and would be something I would buy. I had no idea at the time that the STi was coming to the US.

Honda really pushed me over the edge toward the STi as I was waiting for the RSX Type R but gave up on that after realizing it wasn't going to happen. Having jumped fences to the Evo, the unveiling of the US STi killed that notion quickly (fortunately)
