Re: XPT Tuning 2008 DGM STi & 2008 SWP WRX

You know I had to make sure I got a DGM one so the tune would go right....
How much difference did the sway make on the STI? Did it roughen up the ride at all?

Both combined stabilize the car much better. It feels much more confident in corners now and sweepers. Didn't really roughen it up much more than it was stock too. Controllable slides in 1st and 2nd gear, haven't gone beyond that yet.

The DGM is definately up at least 15whp lol

How was the install of the fuel pump. Is it true you have to custom fabricate some sort of cage/shell for the Walbro?

It's quite simple, I have a HOW-TO on the site here that I'm finishing up this week. No custom building, just a little shaving of the stock housing to get the walbro to fit.

Awesome. Is it true that the 18g is a direct bolt on that shouldn't require new injectors, fuel pump, or aftermarket BPV/BOV?

Re: XPT Tuning 2008 DGM STi & 2008 SWP WRX

So you feel that for those of us that want an E85 map 850's would be ok for the stock turbo?

I'm planning an E85 tune on my STI and I want to make a list of parts to buy to convert succesfully...

My mod list looks like this:

Stock turbo for now...

AEM Intake (Haven't purchased yet)
Upgraded TMIC (Haven't purchased yet)
Invidia catless d/p & q300 catback
COBB AP
GT Spec EL header / uppipe

So the next thing would be injectors / pump...also would I need to change any lines or fittings?

Down the road the car will get pistons and probably rods for a gt30 or 35r setup...so I'm guessing then (2 years approx) I would need bigger injectors...

Thanks,

R

Re: XPT Tuning 2008 DGM STi & 2008 SWP WRX

If you plan on doing E85 on the stock turbo skip the TMIC, CBE, CAI, AP, and Header/Up-Pipe. All you need is a K&N panel filter, Downpipe, Fuel Pump, and DW850cc injectors. With that setup you'll be around 350-375whp and 420-440lb-ft. I am running around 88% IDC in 25-35F weather, and 80% in 80-90F weather.

Thanks for the quick response...

Well...I already have the full exhaust and header/uppipe & AP so I guess instead of the intake/tmic I'll just buy a k&n drop in and let it rip on E85...should make some nice #'s

You don't think an AEM intake would yield more power on E85 than with a drop in filter?

Cool, thanks for the info.

And by openport you mean it can't be protuned on the AP or is that just another software to tune the car?

Do you have the tune results for the DOM3/ E85 tune on the STI yet?
