Will this hurt my motor

Will it hurt my motor by starting it up just at idle to check for leaks?

I have a 2004 STI
FP Red
3'' inlet
fmic
short ram
740cc injectors
full exhaust
One step colder plugs
walbro 255

My tuner said to start the car up and check for leaks. He said just idling the 740cc injectors will not be bad enough to hurt the car. Just to check for leaks real quick. Just confirming

Just did my 2.5 xtr build. Ask your tuner for a base map via email. You'll need for the drive to the shop anyway. Plus all leaks may not be apparent at idle.
As stated, you should have a base map sent to you. You can likely start it up an check for leaks, however, depending on how good or crappy of injectors you have, will determine whether or not it will idle like stock or have one helluva time running.
You can also use an air compressor and pressurize the intake system to check for leaks.

That's the only real way to check for leaks.
Hey guys thanks for the info... My tuner is actually coming to me, so he does no base map tunes.

I tried starting to find my banjo bolt leaking going to my turbo , so gonna get new washers and fix that.

Also my car dies after I start it . I think I have all the vacuum lines hooked up , and the car does START, but then immediatly dies. So I was freaking out as to why, and my tuner said it was prolly just cuz the car is not tuned at all. It's factory map ( just uninstalled my AP) so I am a little worried. but my tuner saying it sounds normal made me think it was alright.

The injectors are only 740cc, but I know after you switch maps the car idles bad and even dies. so maybe with a combination of all the new parts and me uninstalling my AP it just won't stay running now.

Anything to check for??
Any time you change the injectors there are a number of things that have to be adjusted on the tune for it to run.

I would quit worrying about it and wait for the tuner to come and handle it.

Installing the MAF sensor backwards would cause that same outcome on a proper tune and throw no code. Found that out after doing my first boost test ha. Scary, but a simple fix.

Good luck, no worries, enjoy your build!
its not going to hurt anything just starting it up and letting it idle... question is, will it actually idle and not stall. when the hardware becomes too far off from the software (figuratively speaking) sometimes PCM corrections arent enough to keep the car running
