I have seen some posts on here and NASIOC where people say their dealer called them with an ETA on their car. I went to my dealer today and they didn't know jack. As usual i knew more than them. They said they have no STI's in the pipeline and don't expect one until JULY?!?! I called some other illinois dealers and both of them had STI's coming in 3-4 weeks. So i wanna know how many of you with deposits have been contacted about your cars expected delivery ETA? I hope i didn't just pick a horrible dealer who isn't getting any STI's! So everyone with a deposit on an STI sound off. Thanks! :D

My dealer (Burt Subaru in Littleton, CO) told me last Friday that my STi should arrive about June 15. Before last Friday they were saying sometime in May. He also confirmed that this STi does not include a stereo.

I talked to my dealer over the weekend, also to confirm colors and all that....his gut feeling was that he would have the car by the first week of June, if not by the end of this month.

This is at Jack Miller Subaru in North Kansas City, MO

I checked with my dealer (Brian w/Secor Subaru in New London, CT) to get the final all-in price. He told me they are getting their first STi allocation next week...and that usually the cars come in about a month after that. He too verified color/rim choices and ask if I'd want anything other than what I ordered (java black w/silver) in the event those colors weren't available in this allocation. I asked if there was ANY chance it'd come in May based on this allocation....he said that was "a long shot". :(
I guess it's final delivery date is awfully hard for these guys to figure out till they know if it's at port or not yet, and per my salesman they don't know yet. He's been on the nose with everything else he's passed along so I'm guessing this info. is fairly solid.

My customer is first on the list at our dealership (Lujack's in Davenport, Iowa) his is slated to be here the third week of June. Sometimes they come a little early. That is true of all models. I have seen them come in early by as much as a week from their slated time. They have never been late. I think they deliver more than they promise to try and keep people happy.

i think soa needs to subcontract their shipping and distribution to UPS or FEDEX. :) why can't they be more precise about when a car will arrive? it's not like it's the first time a car has been shipped from japan. oh well.

X-Japan, I am in the same situation as you are. My dealer has never called me -- I have been calling once every three weeks or so to get more info, and most of the time I get told he has nothing at all to tell me -- heck, I was the one who told him about the prices. I did speak to a sales manager two weeks ago who said, after talking to the regional rep, that we're getting 0 cars in the first (June) allocation, and we should expect 1 car each in the July and August allocations. Since I'm #2, this is a big ouch. He also claimed he had little control over what he was sent, so the cars coming in may not be my preferred color (Blue/Gold). Bummer -- maybe I should have signed onto van Bortel's list after all (though getting a car from a dealer 2000 miles away sucks).

I've waited years for the car already -- I really shouldn't get upset about a few extra months, but this is annoying. Why am I number 2 instead of number 1? Because the dealers in town forgot about me and started up their lists with deposits only, never bothering to inform me. I am going to an autocross school in late July and was really hoping to have the car in time for it.

Yes, I work with Murley. I found this site long after he had been on it. I will not take any orders because he was here first. There is some honor left. I am just not sure where. Ha. Murley is off today. A little of the info he has given up has come from me. I am on the Subaru dealer site daily.
WRX Mundi, I wonder about your salesperson. All of our sold orders were able to place an order for exactly what they want. It is true we do not have a lot of control over the normal "stock" vehicles. But, any sold order is built to the specs of the buyer (that is you).

I will vouch for Murley, he will not BS you, nor will I.

So you guys are taking sold orders? What Region are you in b/c I was told that no sold orders were being taken on the STi by the Western District Sales Manager of Subaru. Was he telling a fib? Who is your District Sales Manager? I would like to speak with him.

Just really curious... :-?

Well, we are taking sold "Pre-orders"..., SOA won't accept a "Sold Order" until they can build the car. Until that point, we all (including SOA) just keep the info.

Yes, I agree with Murley. I do not want semantics to cause a problem. Once the allocation is available, the buyer is the person who decides what is on their car. For us to use you name and deposit to order any STi that satisfies what we think will sell versus what you want is a big no-no. In fact, we had a WRX ordered for a customer that was then bought by a seperate leasing company to lease to him. We had to explain to SOA why the car we ordered was not sold to the original customer. They really do check up on this stuff. We were able to provide proof of what had happened.

Well, if Subaru is shipping STi's now then they have been building them for a while. Therefore, a Pre-order could be taken now and sent in to Subaru. Am I correct in this bit of logic?

I received a message on my cell last night that my dealer had called to let me know my car (#2 on the list) will be available the first week of June. :D
I am working with Jack Miller in Olathe, KS. BTW my color is blue/gold.

***************************8

After talking to my dealer he let me know that they are getting two blue/gold and two silver/ silver. As #1 wants blue/ gold just like me I will be getting the #2 car.
He also let me know that the north store in KC, KS is only getting two cars.

Scoobydo, I am kind of late here on the scene. Have you not been able to 1.) get on the waiting list with your local dealer 2.) been given a choice of what color and wheels you want 3.) pick the options you want for your car from the four options offered? We have kept track of the order our deposits arrived to keep the list straight. I noticed Subaru seemed (at least the office in Itasca ) to know the order as well because they sent an order confimation with my customer's name on it. I did have to recircle all of the information for them ie. color, wheel color and any options. I think this was their final double check. When we receive more allocations, they should go right down the list. If it is in error, we will correct them.

I do not know how the other Subaru Dealers operate. I have only ever worked here. I can only hope all of the other guys play nicely, but I am intelligent enough to know that not all will.

Scoob..., here's what's up. Every dealership has earned some amount of STi's on a monthly basis. That amount can range from 0-?. If the dealer that you are on list at DID NOT submit your orders info to SOA, then your dealer decides what colors they want on THEIR.., important term..., not YOURS, STi's. If they say that they want the first allocations to be blue/gold then that's what SOA sends them.

NOW, if your dealer does like they are SUPPOSED to do then they submit your position in line, your color request, and your accessories. You have now submitted a "PRE-ORDER". At the time of receiving their allocation for STi's via fax they should CONFIRM the pre-order choices with you and SOA to convert your "pre-order" to an actual "SOLD-ORDER"

Capice? :)
