I'd love it if subaru released an STi wagon in the US. Maybe we'll get lucky and 200 of the 1700 STi slated for the us will be wagons, but I doubt it. Probably the only way to do get an STi wagon in the US is to buy both a WRX wagon and an STi sedan, and swap components. Then sell the newly created WRX sedan. Obviously this will void the warranty though.

I don't even understand why anyone would want a capacity-challenged sedan when you can have all the space in a wagon, plus a place for the dog to ride, or the dirty mountain bike. The sedan is roomy for the class but the wagon is just so much better...

Bullet, If you check out Subaru's Japan website there are pics of the car. See this link: http://www.subaru.co.jp/impreza/sti/f/index.htm

Jisidoro, I wish it was that easy, my understanding is the a welded-in cross member
is different for the 6-speed and center diff.

i would love to see the wagon come here, i already love my WRX wagon. the fact that it is so practical and the preformance specs are so close to that of the sedan make it much more ideal in my mind. and besides, you get to race dumbasses in their S4's and and tell them they got beat by a "little old subaru station wagon"
