The owner is named ADAM.next month i think he is putting in orders for a 2003 J-spec STI.the guy is really great.i was going to get an STI from him but instead i went with a 2002 EVO 7.just call him up,hes real easy to talk to.just say FRANK from NY said to call u

I'm pretty sure the S202 is only available in RHD since its a limited edition model for Japan.

How do you run a J-Spec STi in America in respect to octane of gas? Do they remap the fuel line and reprogram the ecu for 93 octane or something? And how about emissions?

E.I gives you 2 options,1 you can get a remapped stock ECU
or 2.for a little bit extra he`ll put a motec system in the car.

A MOTEC is a fuel managment system or ECU what ever u want to call it.here is the web site

im not using the stock EVO ecu.im having a Motec M48 pro installed.
this sysytem is familiar to a DFI sytem a haltec and many other after market systems

So what do you do if you ever have any problems with the EVO? Where do you take it? How much would parts cost cause I am sure there is no warranty at least any that a dealer in the US would acknowledge. I can also imagine what they would charge for labor if they were willing to work on it.

i have a 1 year unlimited mile warrenty.if i want more coverage of coarse im going to pay fo that.but you bring it to any ASC mechanic and evolution imports will pay for it

How much power did you lose in the motec conversion?

i will be gaining!!!how motec works you hook up a lap top and program the car.im having two setting for that car.i live in NY so we are 1 notch be low cali in emission strickness.so one setting will be when i have to get it inspected,throw on the lap top open a file and go get it inspected.when that done do it again open a file that programed to make the car go all balls to the walls.if you want someone who could explain it better,call up ADAM at EVOLUTION IMPORTS

whoa, 45K is too much for me, even the special at 36,5 is way to much; i guess i'll just wait till these cars are announced for US and go from there.

Its a LHD EVO.when every thing said and done.the HP rating will be 320+ hp at the wheels

Now I'm definitely skeptical. If you said 320 at the crank or flywheel it would make more sense. You're talking about 320 through an AWD system; that's gotta be at least 375 crank HP. If you're saying you added 100 HP over JDM stock with just a Motec engine management system, I have to call your bluff.

Now if the actual output of the JDM engine is more like 315-320 at the crank, like the rumors say, you'd only be adding 55-60 horses. That's still a little high for just ECU mods.

Am I missing something here?
