listening to everyone's comments on brakes, specs, lights on the dash, spoilers, etc.... I dont think this will change anyone's mind. is there anyone who came to this website and ws turned off to it or does not want one now that some specs are different? and no you lucky STI owners don't count, but i would love to hear when you got into subarus and what your story is on your car.

STi Allocation

Personally, I'm not going gaga over the fact that the STi is bound for North America (I know I know...blasphamy...) I'm toying with the idea of trading/selling my '01 RS and getting a New Age WRX or a Re-designed New Age WRX.

227 bhp is good enough for me and I'm not into trying to get the last bit of power out of my car. I want a quick reliable vehicle. The most I'd do would probably be STi suspension, a BOV for my ryceboi side, some nice rims and a cat back exhaust. Perhaps some appearance mods as well.

My big dilemma is should I pull the trigger now for the current '03 design or wait until Spring (??? - is that when it's coming to NA) for the '04.

You say that now, but once you put a few mods on it..you're gonna want more.
If you're gonna stick by your guns I would wait until the new design comes out...should be next year, perhaps early 04.

I would also wait for the '04. I'd expect it to come out spring or summer '03. Subaru will probably dump the remaining worlds '02 model on us as our '03. Of course auto manufactures usually operate with a just in time inventory, so I would imagine that they would be running low on bug eye front ends.

Subaru isn't a big enough company to have two production lines for the same car. Even american auto manufactures are streamlining their production lines by making all license plate mounting areas large enough to accommodate European plates. By doing this they only need one bumper or tailgate for both domestic and import sales.

As for me I definitely want a STi no mater how it is equipped. The only thing that would change my mind is unavailability and if the engine block itself isn't the real STi block. Also I have to have the 6 speed. Considering the engine block and the 6 speed are givens, the only thing I'm worried about is availability.
