gentlemen and lady, all i can say is...THIS CAR IS A @#$*(@#%* DRUG!!!

http://www.hfac.gmu.edu/~rchong/white-gold

the dealer called on monday, and i check it out on tuesday, picked it up this morning when they opened. 6miles on the odo. that paperwork felt like it was taking an eternity!

when i finally got to drive away, i was speechless. the power is incredible. (i don't know how anyone could control that much hp without awd.) the shifter is solid but will take some getting used to find the gears since they're closer together, spatially. the scoop and wing do bounce, but it doesn't bother me in the least. the firmness of the suspension is *just* the way i like. the engine sound: oh my goodness, it is beautiful. it's got the mustang cobra growl. the car is perfect. thanks subaru. i have no complaints, as least after the first 20 miles.

okay, that's it for now. i need to go put the two baby seats in the back. and order a stereo system and some mats.

wojo! gimme a shout. we need to hookup. "i'd like to call to order the first meeting of MASECC, the mid-atlantic sti-evo car club". hey, we're in a class by ourselves, so why not have a joint club?? :)

Alright!!! It's about time!!! I briefly saw a black/gold yesterday around my office in Georgetown. Very impressive! I couldn't get a good look though cause the guy flew by me.

We definitely need to meet up ASAP. DVTurk, Formula1fan :) and me. Do you have AIM? If so, let's talk (wojo7602)

s'more driving observations. i found heel-toeing very easy. i still have to learn the me rev points for the gearing, but the pedals and shifter coordination is great; the engine revs quickly (almost telepathically) and the clutch is very smooth.

someone commented about how the wing blocks the rearview. at first, i was tempted to cynically respond "yeahm and i hear people with hummers are surprised by their gas mileage." but after driving s'more, he's right that it is a real issue. it's only now that i have a wing that blocks the view do i realize how much i look in the mirror to see if there are cops in the distance. <sigh> i'll get over it tho'.
