Speaking of which....has anyone tried that Xpel kit on the STi? The only thing I would think would be different at all is the little fin on the side of the front. And then you'd have to order a few extra pieces to do the fog covers.

Anyone done this to the STi yet? My dealer is saying the place that usually does these for them doesn't yet have a kit for the STi, so no price is available.

I just had my kit installed, including the front edge of the scoop, pillars, roof line, and door sill/ground effects under the doors. A lot of it was custom but the basic WRX kit willl work. You just need extra for the front lip and fog covers.

Yup, I got the guy off the expel website. There were 2 in the area but he had some symbol or something next to his name basically meaning he has been trained to and can cut his own kits. Since there was no kit available for the STi at the time I figured someone who can cut the stuff himself would be better to use for the custom stuff needed on the STi. Come to find out the guy's background is in graphics and CAD. He has like 3 plotters in his house and downloads all the patterns. I even let him keep my car for a couple days so he could take his time and enter all the measurments of my STi into his system so if another guy comes in he can just cut the kit and not have to go through all the crap that he had to with my car again.

Yeah, actually he emailed me about it after I asked on NASIOC. Seems straightforward. Now I just need to find someone that will install it for me, or that has the same kit and will do so. I've done a few of the simple kits, but I think I'd mess this one up pretty good.

My guy told me the bumper is rated a level 4, out of what I don't know but he made it sound like it is pretty tough. He actually did mine twice due to stretch marks and whatnot on his first try. There still are some but not as bad as before, still nothing as bad as it would look after 20k miles of expressway driving.

4 out of 5...that's the way Xpel has it rated too. I did a custom job on my WW front lip and that wasn't horrible, but it is so close to the ground you can't see the imperfections. The 3 star kit I did on my fiance's Maxima was a pain in many areas. I don't think I'll do one of those again...let alone something harder.

I'm definitely getting the 3M film on mine - I don't know if all the Canadian dealers are the same, but the dealership I'm going through in Calgary has the 3M film as an option. The frontal portion of the hood, the entire grill area including headlights, the mirrors, and the side skirts for $1000. I'm not sure if they install it there or source it out, I'll have to check. Does this price sound OK to you guys? Laterz.

HOLY ISH MAN!

Is that Canadian dollars I hope? Usually the kit is around $300 here, with install close to the same.

I know my dealer said they have people that come in to do it for them, but that these particular guys didn't have the pattern yet.

You guys are lucky. I will have to do it myself, just like I did my window tint. No one around here to do it. I live in Alaska, the capital, but still no one does it around here. Kind of sucks..... This website has helped a bunch with ideas though. Bravo to the creator of it

MKIVSupra and CloNeGTS,

I hope all is well. I see that MKIVSupra has went with the Xpel kit. I am glad that you are protected and happy with the kit. As for the bumper being a 4 out of 5 that is bull, sorry to say. Honestly it is really one of the easiest bumpers to install. May I ask what they charged you for the kit. I see that Xpel does not have the STi kit yet, while we do. I guess they feel it is important one to make.

I also saw someone was wondering about the fog light covers, yes they are covered too.

Thanks for the props. Really appreciated.

RockBlocker, What is your price on the kit for the STI with the fog light covers. I am in Alaska so I would have to do it myself with the kit or a roll of the stuff.
