My final price for my STI is 33,132.25. This includes tax, title, license, and inspection sticker.

This isn't counting if I finance it or not....

Anyone else got some beautiful sounding numbers?!

33,132.25 I think is a little low. How did you come to that price? To get that price you would have to have an MSRP of about 30,150.00 I predict it will be around 35k for me. To make up a number 35,125.34 :D

Jackson, Mississippi. 5% sales tax on vehicles, 7% regular sales tax, and 7.5 - 8% tax on food (Not sure what it is up to now).

My uncle that lives in Texas said something about them not having any tax on vehicles where he lives....*shrug*

Also keep in mind that if you are buying your STI from a dealer that isn't in your home state, you should be paying any sales tax. When you go to get your plates/title/whatever in your home state you will pay a different charge (usually around what you would've paid in sales tax to begin with) instead. Sometimes it is lower though...

Where are you at that has 5% sales tax, I want to move there! :D
vehicle tax is 3% in virginia. i called my dealer and he said the following: $30,500 + 3% + 0.17% (some misc charge) + ~$250 for papers + $550 => ~$32,400. [note: my dealer said the msrp isn't official, but the number he's heard is $30,500, which is why i used that number.]

edit: forgot to knock $200 off for the dealer's "repeat customer credit"; ~$32,200.

Yeah, dealers should have financing fees.....paper fees...there is ALWAYS something else to pay for.

Honestly, I don't care what the exact figure is anymore. I probably won't want to read the contract.....I'll just want to sign on the line and run out the door!

K...here is what i'm looking at i think.

$30,995.00 + $550.00 + $1,937.00(6.25% tax) + $52.57(doc. fee) =
$33,534.57

I assume there will be a few more small fees and lets not forget Floormats, Trunk mat, wheel locks, etc. and little things like those too. So probably $34,000.00 total for me.

I was able to get my first loan solo (age 18) through my local credit union. Being that I was a first time borrower I got hit with a high interest rate, about 13 percent. I would suggest you find the best credit union in your area and try them. Also don't start going to alot of places. They'll probably run your credit and that will show up on your credit report. Alot of hits look bad. Finally, if have have no other choice and your parents are willing to be co-singers, do it. Building good credit is the most important thing you can do. And this will help.

BTW, my FICO score is 716, a little below the national average.

And to stay on topic, $34,384.05 for me (give or take a few).

After all is said and done, what will the final price be? Not what you hope or guess. It shouldn't be too hard to take the msrp + destination * whatever you tax will be then add on dealer fee's which they will tell you. I said beautiful because that is what my number is to me (the guy that was allotted a 34k cap to spend on this ride by his wife).
