Whats your DD?

I just traded in my Honda CRZ in Saturday for a 2013 Scion tC. I had the CRZ for a little over 2 years and gave it to my dad to take to work and back to save on gas. I was still paying the monthly payments on it. He retires next week and will be buying himself a truck so I was left with an automatic Honda :(. I got kinda screwed on the interest rate (18%) so I traded it in, just wanted something manual and not slow as hell but not exactly fast. Brand new with 185 miles, this car comes out cheaper monthly and total financing. Will be using it to keep the miles off the STI for if I ever decide to part with it. Just wondering what everybody else has as their daily and maybe a little story behind it.

Same, would be nice to have a 2nd car but I'd rather put the money into the STi instead at this point.
Whichever one I feel like driving. Recently it has been the suv as I have been logging a lot of miles and it is quiet, comfortable and gets the best gas mileage at 28 highway.

Most of the time it is the STi though and occasionally I will drive the beater truck around. I just did the clutch, slave, pinon shaft seal, output shaft seal, master cylinder and fluids on the truck so I think I will drive it around for a couple weeks now that I dropped $350 into a car thats worth maybe a grand!!

ford FSM says this guy has 9 bolts attaching it to the engine....mazda decided they wanted to add a 10th....longest I have ever spent trying to remove a transmission

I have an 04 Accord as well that I'll drive once in awhile if I'm worried about weather but I enjoy driving the STI.
My STi
STI was my DD until 4 months ago. Picked up a 99 Accord for fuel mileage, ease of maintenance, and a better ride on crap TX roads. Oh, and for when the STI needs to be fixed/maintained.
Gotta be subie.

STI always.
You should take off the WRX badge. Would look a lot cleaner IMO. Like the red flaps

I enjoy my glorious sub 16-mpg work commute in it every day.

One of the reasons I got a DD is because of the horrible roads.....and I'm going to switch the STI to e85 and literally the only stations are 35miles, 80 miles and 102 miles away. Couldn't do that without another car

Drooooooooooooool
My STi. Have my '01 Dodge diesel for a back-up if need be. 22 mpg with the sti is still better than 18 in the truck.
STI is the year-round daily. But every single day that it is nice out in the summer I take my bike now that i have my full license. Much cheaper on gas (like 50-55MPG and a little quicker than the STI too :p Plus, keeps the mileage down on the STI.
My DD/beater is a 1999 Forester S with the 5MT that has 113k on it. Good dependable vehicle, fits in the family (we have two other Subies), and it was cheap as hell ($2000 cash).

It's nice having something for the winter that I don't give a crap if someone slides into. Also, I park it right at the front at stores instead of in another zip code at the back of the parking lot like we do with our newer Subies. The paint is roughed up a bit, it has a few dents, but everything works and it still turns 25 in the city and about 30 on the highway. One of the best decisions I ever made (not just to give the STI some time off, but so that I can wrench on the STI as much as I want and never have to worry about finishing and driving it to work the next day).
92 Ford Taurus. We get some nasty, salty winters here, so I went cheap. It's been a pretty good car for the last 4.5 years. It's got 190k miles on it and I've changed oil once in the last 20k I've had it (I used to have a leak, so I just added oil).

I will probably be spending more money and buying something a little nicer and better on MPG's. In time, it would pay for itself considering the dismal MPG's this car gets.
