Well please check in and tell us about your experience purchasing the vehilce. Anyone buy out of state? I almost with to Murley but my credit union wouldn't finance the car. I ran the numbers with Murley and it was only $400 to ship the car to San Jose! Cheaper than a plan ticket and gas!
well, my story was a weird one. last month, on a friday afternoon, someone posted on i-club's and nasioc's bay area forum that he couldnt afford his STi from santa cruz. so who ever has $700 for his downpayment/deposit, he would give them his spot.
so i emailed, PM etc, him so by friday nite, he calls me back and gives me his spot. he calls santa cruz about me being his friend and taking over his spot. dealer says fine.
saturday morning, he leaves voice message saying dealer is ready, car is being detailed as we speak. cool. so i call santa cruz to talk to salesman and confirm. he says yes. i tell him i'll be there later in the day. he says he wont but someone else will handle it. COOLER!!!
so around noon, i start to swap out aftermarket tires/rims back to stock. then i drive to hayward to remove uppipe. so everything is stock. even proceed to remove kartboy shifter. all i leave is kartboy bushing. too hard...
anyways, time to remove uppie takes longer and by satruday 4pm, i call santa cruz telling them. alternate sales person tells me to wait... then i find original sales person (that claimed to be leaving by 2pm) to still be there.
this time, he is almost screaming at me. he says he is getting calls from lots of people on the list saying that the dude who's giving up his space and i, were on a suspicious deal. salesman goes online and finds the original post of the person and tells me that the post was illegal, blah, blah blah and cannot sell the car to me!!!!!
i'm bummed. in fact, i posted that story here...
but the good news came 2 days later. alex, owner of i-club, is friend with a salesman in bianco subaru (marin county). he has 2 STis for MSRP!!!!!!!!
so i immediately call the guy and make plans for the next day. this is late monday afternoon.
so tuesday morning, i make my way to marin county. 2 hours later, i drove home in my new black with gold rims...
now i traded in my sedona red 2002 wrx that had less than 15000 miles. i received about $1 per mile trade-in...
i did pay msrp with boost gauge (biggest piece of sheeeeet), alarm (which is actually nice) and arm rest extension (very nice).
last 2 saturdays, i did 10-12 hours of audio install. still not finish. will be driving to oregon in a week. should be killer drive...
