I voted over $32K, but really closer to $33K or more. I want to buy with TTL and everything no more than $35K..period.

Snowboard, there is an alternative to this ya know. If you look at the STi from the truck the ex-trunk pass through is just foam covered cloth. You could be courageous enough to cut through that after removing the cloth in the portion and having a custom pass through there. I wouldn't do it, but with the right tools and people helping you its possible.

I took it to mean that there was an option to _remove_ the tremendous wing. Stealth, baby.

Or take the seat to an upholstery shop to see what they can do with it (assuming that the hole in the chassis remains).

For me, I would not buy one if it got really poor gas mileage, and we had to pay a gas guzzler tax when we bought the car. For instance The gas guzzler tax on the M3 is $1000 and that gets 16/24 MPG. The STI may be close to that due to the 4WD + high output engine.

Then again, if I were to get an STI I'd get one coming off of a lease 4 years down the road. cuz I'm po!

at 33k the car will be $4k more than the EVO VIII. I have to say the EVO is a very good value.

We won't need to worry about this...at the Petersen Preview, one of the reps said that SOA left out the stereo to come in under the gas guzzler tax.

I hate to have to make my own trunk pass through...but I guess at least I could get one of those Acura TL ones so that I can lock it! I read somewhere in a thread here that Canada might be getting the trunk pass through (but they won't get the HIDs and the DCCD). sh** I want it all! :lol:

Maybe we can petition SOA to include the trunk pass through (and any other suggestions)...I'm sure some people mentioned it to the reps at the Petersen showing and also in Detroit...but maybe you guys could call up Western Region SOA, their number is 503 262 1250

Okay, I love this car. I might enjoy owning an Infiniti G35 or 2004 Maxima, but I would LOVE an STI. Having said that, it is still an Impreza and a $30K Impreza with tremendous performance and World Rally Racing Heritage is to be admired, but at $35k it now becomes just an over priced Impreza IMHO.

Over $34K and I’ll be test driving a BMW 330i, G35 and maybe even a new Volvo S60R, since I can better justify in my brain paying a premium price for these vehicles.

I think at 32k they will sell everything they import for several months. Possibly even longer. Just like what happened to the WRX in the beginning.

What kind of monster stereo is this anyways that hurts the gas mileage so much!?!? A stereo is very very minor compared to fog lights
(when they are on) Also if they really want to save weight they should leave out the spare tire/ jack/ tools.

I think it was very close to the target weight and pulling the stereo and pass through made the difference. I hypothisized this from various postings on several boards. I am pretty sure tht is why the fog lights are also not standard.

For all others, that gives a pretty good idea that people want a car that perform and is not too expensive... Well, not a price way more than the Evo.

BTW, here, in Canada, the trunk passthrough will be a standard option... I'm also wondering if it's not necessary now that all cars that come in Canada must have that... I know that the law require that the day running lights are on automatically when starting the car, heavier bumpers than in the US... I'm saying that because:
My 99 Ford Mustang Cobra and my 2002 Z06 had the trunk passthrough so it may be mandatory... What I hope is that we will have DCCD and HID either if it looks like we won't have them

Thats a good point dude, I don't know if dealers will do a lease on hot cars like this or brand new cars. You're usually dealing with the car company's internal financial arm, I dunno.
