So I am planning on getting an sti soon and I was wondering what you guys think the top 10 or so first thinks to upgrade to your car?! Please write it something like this (EXAMPLE)
1. Example $500 the XJ50939 Turbo
2. Example $350 New 07 Sti lights
3. Example $200 New filter\]
Don't hate and say YOU DONT NEED UPGRADES because I am going to upgrade it no matter what! I want a fast bad ass looking car... And what year is fastest? 04-07

Well this was shown to me when I was asking about Stage 1. It's not going to follow your example lol but it should be good information for you.

Blue 05s are the fastest. . .

Get a donwpipe and tune, maybe lowering springs from RCE and sway bars. If you want pure honesty, the first ones are the first of many. Just recognize from the beginning that your car is going to consume all of your spare money.

If its under warranty handling mods.
If not whatever you are comfortable with!
Change the oil, it's worth 17 HP in GranTurismo.
If you're looking at the 04-07 STi's.....

The first thing you should do before any mods is change the oil pickup tube. I recommend the Killer B, $170. That will save you a lot of heartache down the road, and it's cheap and not too tough to do.

From personal experience...the VF-39 ('06) has a tendency to crack in the housing, so i'd look into a turbo upgrade. Wish I would have known that before mine went out, but after looking online after it happened I wasn't the only one by far. There's a thousand different options... then you're looking at a fuel pump ~$100, injectors ~$630, I/C, exhaust and a tune. You can get a pretty nice complete set up for 3-4K.

Just my own opinion for the engine stuff....i like the way the car handles stock, but to each their own on upgrades there.
these cars are pretty fast out of the box. Personally I think anything beyond intake/exhaust with a protune is beyond what most need power-wise. Im a big fan of suspension/handling mods, anyone can go fast in a straight line.

Id start with springs, swaybars, endlinks, bushings, "anti-lift-kit", bump-steer/roll-center adjuster kit, good alignment, and an aggressive wheel/tire combo. Thats the direction my car is going and so far it handles pretty well.

This is why you cant ask what the best is without specifying what you want to do with the car, besides being "badass"; that comes equipped stock, it is an STi after all.

I suggest reading through some journals, figuring out exactly which direction you want to go in and then ask for an opinion from those who went in a similar direction. If not you'll find yourself wasting thousands on parts you really didnt need; ask me how I know:p

If there's no finish line in sight, your only choices are to continue, or stop. Get your finish line in sight before you lose sight of your wallet.

shifter bushings and sways/endlinks

tires if you track it
step 1 - acquire an STi

... step 2 - if step 1 ever happens.. why don't you drive it and see what you'd like to improve, and research it once you know what you want to accomplish? would you really spend a bunch of your money from a bunch of random ass suggestions?

i agree.

lots of different routes to go. i like my car well rounded so i have mods all around the board from suspension to power. some people wanna take corners as fast as possible. some want to go in a straight line as fast as possible. or even the people who 'hellaflush' their car (only god knows why) its whatever you want the car to do better
I looked at OP's previous posts. He's been asking sellers for videos of their cars all over the place, and started another thread about how he has 10,000$ to build a rally car daily driver race car .. errrrrrr....

I was waiting for someone to point this out; please give this person a medal.

OP, stop posting trash around this forum. Buy your car first.
