The JDM STI used to have variable power steering, which would change
the steering sensitivity based on the vehicle speed. I looked at the items on an STI today and it isn't listed. Is this the reason that the steering ratio is so low vis a vis the EVO?

Just because it isn't listed where you looked doesn't mean it isn't on the car. I remember reading it in the literature supplied to dealers.

I'm glad to hear it. I mention it because the sticker seemed very detailed, going down to things like "AWD" and "Boxer engine".

But I'll take your word for it that it's on the car.

All Subies come with "speed sensative" power steering. It's standard like ABS.
