Its cool that you listed what you are gonna do. Here is my opinion on your planned mods.

Charge Speed Body Kit V2 - Yuck big time. STI stock looks better
Fastline Hood Scoop Screen - Good idea
Kartboy Shift Knob - Yuck. STI shift knob and boot looks better
Greddy E-01 Boost Control - Mega yuck. Don't just throw a BC on it
Invidia Stainless Steel Exhaust - Yuck again. Check the TXS thread
Invidia Downpipe - Same as last
STI Carbon Blinker Covers - uh STI doesn't have these blinkers anymore
STI Shifter Trim Plate - uh STI already comes with this
STi Door Sills - WRX - These rule. I am putting them on too.
2 Sparco Torinos Seats - These seats suck. Go Recaro, much better
2 Black Sparco Racing Harness 4PT - Pretty good harness.
STI Pedal Set - These are cool.
STI Pink Star Emblem - Like this
STI Carbon Badge - would leave it off.
STI Rear Badging - would leave it off. Car has enough badges already.
Perrin Brake Kit - Why would you ever do this to STI?

There ya go. Its cool that you wanna mod your car but you seem like you don't have any experience doing it. I suggest getting the car first and leaving it stock for awhile to learn what you like and dislike about it. Then decide what you wanna do because, this list doesn't make much sense and isn't structured with an end goal in mind. I am not dissing vivid cause lord knows they have made some sick WRX's. Just check out the owner's awesome WRX in Super Street's April 2003 issue(pgs. 96-102). I am saying that you might wanna get somebody to help you set up a plan of action for modding your STI to the best of its ability(in your budget that is) after you spend some time with it stock. Peace!!

I totally agree with X. You need to think any type of modification carefully. You don't want a ghetto or a tore up STI in a couple of years! The only thing I would like to do is Lower the car a little. Both for looks and performance reasons. Mainly looks........Is it me or does the front of the car look higher? It seems like you have a "ONE FINGER" gap in the rear and a "TWO FINGER" gap in the front. What do you guys think?

The STi already sits a half inch lower than the WRX. I would really think twice about touching any part of the suspension on the STi. The engineers did a lot to make sure everything works good together. You start messin just to make it sit lower and you could end up with it handling worse then it did stock. I would say either all or nothing... either replace the whole suspension setup or leave it alone.

Already ordered my gauge pod and STi boost gauge. (2 weeks until delivery)

Working on putting my stereo together now, something sub $2500 (hopefully dont within the month)

Wouldnt mind another set of wheels, 18", but dont have the $$ needed to get the custom HRE's I want (3-4 months)

Already got rubber floor mats, would like to get OEM Canadaian STi Mats

Need to order a turbo timer, probably blitz

Eventually will have to get the TurboXS Turbo-Back Exhaust since they are local, and 30 hp for an $1100 exhaust isnt that bad of deal in my book

No major engine mods here, Id like to keep the warranty a year or two first, as well, this car is amazing how it is

Would the TurboXS Turbo-Back Exhaust void factory warranty?

I have never had a problem before with aftermarket exhausts. But you know dealers, always trying to make a $$.

I wouldn't be chosing any parts at this time. This is very early on in the game and anyone who has had a new import before will tell you to hold off for at least a year......the first round of stuff isn't nearly as cool as the parts that take some time to develop.

Trust me....I wouldn't have the body kit I have now had I waited just a few months longer.

I am sitting on this bad boy for a year before mods. That way i can enjoy it and figure out what is wrong with it. Also in a year all the best companies will have some good stuff already made and tested. Also if you mod your sti quickly and something goes wrong you won't know if your mods caused it or if it is a first year problem with the car. That said i do have a few things i am planning to do right away though. I returned my rims/tire package i bought for it cause i like the stock rims more than i thought i would and the stock tires are quite good. So i saved 3k from that. I immediately put it back into my audio system which goes in next week. It consists of eclipse monitor cd head unit, eclipse 5/3 channel amp, eclipse components up front, eclipse point sources in back, eclipse 8 disc changer and eclipse 10inch sub enclosure + dynamat kits, lightning strike wiring kits, strike dist blocks yadda yadda yadda. All together it ran me 3.1K. I have already put some JDM "Impreza powered by STI" shoulder pads on all the seatbelts. I am putting on medium window tint, STI door sill plates, pink JDM i emblem, shaving the silver subaru from trunk, STI JDM pedal set, Euro STI floormats, hood scoop screen, A-pillar gauge pod with boost and oil temp gauges, JDM STI front and rear strut braces and a few other little things. So basically i am doing all the sweet cosmetic things i wanna do(minus the god awful batmobile combat body kits etc.) right now and gonna save the performance for next spring/summer. Peace!!

Mandatory 1st mod for the STi

I am curiouse to see what Prodrive comes up with for a US PPP package. When they come out with it I will seriously consider that. Probably won't do anything this year other than stereo and window tint.

X-Japan, have you found a hood scoop screen? I can't find one made for the 04 STi.

only if they can prove that this product caused the part you wanted to warranty to fail.

for example, if your headlights go out and they blame the exhaust, they you can laugh your a$$ off in front of the service dude.

but if your turbo fails, they may have a case.
