In my opinion the clutch would have to be replaced very often, especially the way people will drive these cars. At any rate, I will replace it with a top cluth as needed, but Im sure we will get a tuned clutch so to speak. I mean why would they tune the engine, and tranny and not upgrade the clutch at least a notch.
What about the clutch?
Everyone is obviously excited about the new 6 speed in the STi, but I was wondering if anything has been done about the clutch. I am not that impressed with the clutch in my '02 WRX. I have driven many MT cars without problems and never ride the clutch, but occationally after a spirited ride with a lot of shifting I can smell the faint odor of cooked clutch. I don't think it would stand up to the additional power of the STi, especially with some hard launches. Does the STi have an up-rated semi-race clutch?
