Hey, I'm near Baltimore and currently own an S2000. I'm very interested in the STI though and may consider doing a swap. If anyone local is out there that can give me a test ride, I would do the same for you in the S2000. PM me if you're interested

Bought the car 3 weeks ago.

Nicely broken in already.

Last night I installed OEM upgraded speakers and tweeters ($190 from Wilkins Subaru) and a used 02 wrx in dash cd changer ($150 on ebay).

Broke the freaking rear door handle bezel on the left. Glued it together. Looks like crap. Got one on order. Hee hee.

Installing the BLITZ SUS intake today.

Nice to meet you all.

Been waiting on my STi since April, which is *supposed* to be delivered next week (October 13-17), '02 WRX owner (for sale SOON), and former owner of an '86 Buick Grand National and '91 GMC Syclone. Wanting to meet other STi owners to pop the hoods, chew the fat about these beasts, etc.

P.S. Going with the Subaru OEM upgraded speakers, subwoofer, amp, and in-dash CD changer. Quotes from Tweeter in Manassas and Circuit City in Dale City are about $500 more for an Alpine-centric system. This is what I have in my '02 WRX and I'm satisfied with that.

Modifications??

Impreza meet! woohoo. Ill see you there Ron.

Hey if you have any questions about sound systems let me know Chuck, I recently had mine finished and its looks rather nice. Just my opinion but you can get a much better sound system aftermarket then if you picked the subaru one.

Guys,
You're correct, Ron, in that Guero's aftermarket setup would probably set me back quite a bit more than the parts/install price of $1355 for the OEM HU w/ 6-disc CD, upgraded speakers, sub, and amp. I would be willing to go for an aftermarket system if: 1) it wasn't much more than that $1355 price (say, $1500), and 2) getting someone to install it wasn't a hassle (in terms of finding someone knowledgeable to do the install--not a do-it-yourselfer--as well as availability, i.e., not waiting one or two weeks to get on someone's schedule).

As for the October 24th meet, I'm up for that, and *hopefully* my STi will be delivered by then (crossing fingers here!). By the way, since I will be selling my '02 WRX, if you know anyone interested in buying let me know. I bought the vehicle with just about every option available, garaged, daily driver by a middle-aged man, all scheduled maintenance performed, NO modifications, inside and out in pristine condition (I'm one of those people that always parks at the end of a parking lot to avoid door dings), and just went over 31K (mostly highway) miles. Probably looking at selling for $19K/OBO. This is an excellent '02 WRX, not a ragged out one driven by someone that has run the Hell out of it, or put nonsensical doo-dads to alter the appearance.

Thanks,
Chuck
