Want to buy a 2005 Sti.

Unfortunately that is not an STI. That's a 2.5RS dressed up as an STI.

I must be a noob, but is there some dead give away that it's a 2.5rs?

well I have an 2005 STI and I can't tell that the car picture isn't an STI. someone went to great length's to clone one. run the VIN number through carfax and see what it comes up as.

The description for the ad used to say "Impreza 2.5RS with STI Sport Package". I just went to screenshot it for this thread a moment ago and it seems they've updated the title to reflect what it really is. Now it says "2005 Subaru Impreza."

I'm wondering if that is even the car in the picture or if they used a stock picture of a different car.

I just pulled up the site, and a different car is pictured. the car pictured is a 2.5RS. the car pictured above is an 2005 STI. now why is there on that screen shot seemed to be some photoshop customization or a wrong picture uploaded when the ad first went live.
