didnt realize someone already mentioned vishnu working with an STi.
saw the link under end of "does it ping" debate. sorry.
p.s. the evo pings on the dyno too.

Naw, the Subaru's have been pretty consistent and are even putting down more power than described by the factory rating....but again, this is based off of the 250-255hp numbers and not Shiv's.

However...there were discrepencies in the EVO numbers, all on Shiv's dyno. He got a good deal more power out of the 'ringer' press car when compared to the many factory cars people brought in for baselines.

i say, each dyno is diff. so take the number off 1 dyno and put another car on it. then use that delta to compare other dynos...

simple.

for example, shiv's dyno on the wrx was around 165. the evo 180. fine. delta of 15.

so if another dyno has the same delta, even though their number are like 200 and 215, they i'm cool with that. no big deal...

When? Link please? And I know the VII pings on US gas, but I don't think the VIII does. Actually lots of people (including Vishnu) are leaning out the top end and getting about 25-30 more reliable horsepower with no ping.

Just read on here that someone had a dealer tell them the shipment of STi's is backed up because of Subaru looking into the pinging problem, great news!! This car is going to be a beast when Shiv gets his hands on it.
