Info from internet:
Subaru initially predicted U.S. sales of about 10,000 Impreza WRXs annually, but customers bought 18,060 in eight months of 2001 and another 22,910 in all of 2002. That was 50.7 percent of U.S. Impreza sales in 2001 and 59.9 percent of the U.S. Impreza total in 2002.

Fred Adcock, Subaru of America executive vice president, said U.S. sales of the Impreza WRX STi will begin this summer. The company expects to sell about 300 of the models per month.

Subaru is expecting to sell 300 STi a month. That does not mean they will import only 300 to the states. I am pretty sure that in a few months they will increase to the sales to maybe 750 STi's a month because of successful sales. Same supply and demand crap will work against dealers charging over MSRP. It will take 1 or 2 STi in their dealership's "showcase" to wake them up from their dream (and start charging more realist $$).

Any info on increasing monthly sales of STis in the near future?

Just wait people, wait a month and two for the beginning on STi hunting season :)

info

Man I sure hope the same happens to the STi. Because I perfer to wait than to pay over MSRP. At leas here in Miami, cause here you see all of the cars in the magazines from Ferrari's to the MINI before it was available to the market. There is an Area called Brickell Avenue where many race car driver live and have some of the worlds most expensive cars. The only car that I have not seen here is the Mclaren F1.

And think about it, the more you wait the more RD has been done on the car, the more performance mods would be available (at a cheaper price probably), bugs has been fixed, you will have a "newer" Sti and maybe with some added HP from factory.
The reason I want an STi is because its 4 doors and its one of the fastest sedan IN THE WORLD. BUT also because its cheap. I would not hesitate in getting a Cobra but I just got married so a 2 drs coupe is out of the question.
January looks promising, hehehe. I might be able to get an STi.
Btw, Evo is out of the question. Dunno why but its not my piece of cake.

Nope, the Evo does not attract me. Don't get me wrong, the Evo's body does look a lot better that the Lancer. But Mitsu has not had a good reputation with engines/transmission in the states in the last decate so I'll pass.
Isnt't the Evo's US engine/gearbox new compared to past Japan's evos?
Scares me more if thats, bugs bugs bugs....
